I’m about to turn 73, I’m a female and have asthma and COPD. I started working with Kristen at the Alaska Club in Eagle River in June. She trained me for 30 minutes, twice a week and I worked out independently three to four days a week for seven months. Kristen gave me the knowledge and confidence to work out in the same room as those guys and ladies with serious muscles and I love every moment of it. They inspire me. I’ll be working with Kristen on an as needed basis in the future as I venture in to the land of barbells. Kristen always preaches form over weight and she won’t let me do anything stupid. Highly recommend.

Cody Sinclair is a fantastic Personal Trainer! I was nervous about starting in on an exercise regime but he helped me set a goal and work on my weak areas. He was not judgmental and very patient with me as I learned the exercises that were new to me. I started seeing results within a month! After two months, with Cody's help I was able to increase my pull-up count from 4 to 12 using various exercises he assigned me! If you have a membership at the Alaska Club Eagle River Gym and need a Personal Trainer, I highly recommend him!

I have been working with Kristin Bailey, a personal trainer, at the ER club since last September. The changes that I have seen are beyond what I could have imagined. I am in my mid-40s and I am already starting to lift more weight than I could in my late 20s/early 30s. Kristin has crafted a program for me that is fun (tough! but fun) and engaging. She is also helping me with dialing in nutrition. I HIGHLY recommend Kristin Bailey as a trainer.

I experienced a medical emergency at The Alaska Club in Eagle River, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff who were there that day. They were calm, professional, and genuinely caring during a very stressful situation. What meant even more was that they called the next day to check on me. That kind of compassion and follow-up speaks volumes about the team at that location. Unfortunately, my experience with accounting (Anchorage East) was the complete opposite. Per my doctor’s orders, I needed to pause my membership for six weeks while I recover. I still had a few weeks remaining on my membership and simply asked about pausing it or allowing someone else to use the remaining time so it wouldn’t go to waste. The accountant ,Leah, I spoke with was rude and dismissive. I was told I could just sign back up when I return, and when I asked about transferring the remaining time, she questioned by saying “why would you want to give someone a few weeks membership?”The tone and lack of empathy were disappointing, especially given the circumstances. It’s unfortunate because the Eagle River staff were outstanding and truly showed what great customer care looks like. I hope management recognizes how strong that team is and also takes a closer look at how accounting handles members dealing with medical issues.

We went here for a birthday party last weekend and my husband, daughter, and I both got rashes on our bodies. It’s itchy, red, and painful. When I looked this up it can happen from hot tubs & is from bacteria. The hot tub was so gross and I questioned getting in when I saw the water. Once the bubbles stopped the water looked cloudy and questionable. I wish I wouldn’t have gotten in. It has been a week now and the rashes aren’t getting better. So gross! Will not be going back. Also, the two lifeguards out there during the party played football the entire time and weren’t watching any of the kids. Disappointing..
