Dark Matter Jiu Jitsu/Ares BJJ Tempe

Dark Matter is awesome! I train in TN and was in Tempe for work. I searched the area and my coach told me to check Ares locations. I landed on Dark Matter. I stopped by and they let me train for all 3 of there afternoon No Gi classes. The vibe was chill and relaxed. Everyone was super welcoming. The facility was SUPER clean. It was all in all a great experience. If anyone is looking to check out a nice BJJ gym you can't go wrong with the crew at Dark Matter.

We come here for their kids jujitsu program. All I can say is… AMAZING!!! We’ve been bringing our 8 year old son here for about 4 months now and it’s been amazing watching him grow and learn here at Dark Matter. Korey is one of the best and most patient instructors I’ve ever seen. Truly passionate about teaching the kids and helping them truly learn the art of jujitsu.

Dark Matter JJ is great, Korey is an awesome instructor and the whole school is kind, accepting and honestly fun to be around. Any time I take a day off I’m dying to get back. I love how Korey teaches in blocks- ie: “the next few weeks are single x guard..” what to do from both positions. I really like how I am able to improve my confidence in the spot before we move onto the next one. As a beginner it’s “simple” to follow along. I’ve experienced other instructors and I definitely prefer how Dark Matter JJ teaches. I’ve learned so much! Our comp training and comp team experience is one of a kind. If it’s something you are looking for the process helps you feel ready and allows you to be successful! They also offer education bimonthly about keeping joints and areas of your body healthy which is unlike any other school. It’s a cool benefit !

Fantastic gym and vibes, the people and training is top tier. Appreciate the Coach, he is very humble and experienced when it comes to BJJ.

This place is great. Our 6 year old son did the trial class, which he was very hesitant to do, and was hooked immediately. We've been going for a few months now and it has started to feel like a community. It's a great deal for your money, and Coach Cory is great with the kids. He lets them have fun when its appropriate and also makes sure the kids understand the seriousness of what they're doing.
