So far, my son loves Lotus Fight Club. He's able to participate in wrestling, jiu-jitsu and muay thai. He came from a gym that did jiu-jitsu and muay thai, but the training here is more hands on. We've been here 2 days now, and his form has already improved significantly.

We have been members of Lotus Club for four years. What started as a way for two of my sons to “get some energy out” has become a meaningful part of our lives. My husband and I train, my competitive teenage dancer daughter has fallen in love with it and my sons are still going strong. Sean and Ashley Downie have developed something really special here. This gym is not a “participation trophy” gym, every member earns what is theirs, because of this, our children are incredibly confident in themselves and their skills. Champions (in life) are not built on promoting a false sense of accomplishment. Lotus athletes fail to learn, have a strong work ethic, are mentally tough, and are champions in the truest sense of the word. Lotus Club is our happy place. I implore you to come check it out! If you, or your children, want to learn a martial art, self-defense and one of the coolest sports, join the BEST gym in the state of Arizona. Don’t take my word for it, just look at the first place team trophies for KIDS AND ADULTS that line the walls! 🏆

My daughter and I came to Lotus during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. I was a newly single mom working three jobs, trying to navigate homeschooling while helping my daughter cope with her dad and brother moving hours away. She was hurting and acting out, and I knew she needed a healthy outlet to release all those emotions. We had previously attended another gym, but I was looking for something with more structure and discipline in the younger classes. What we found at Lotus was so much more than that. Over the past six months, as we’ve worked to get back on our feet, Lotus has truly become our happy place. My daughter trains in kickboxing and jiu-jitsu, and I genuinely believe it has helped her tremendously with emotional regulation and confidence. She’s made great friends, and I’ve built friendships with other moms as well. Recently, my daughter convinced me to start training too, and it has been incredible for my mental health. Turns out I needed the outlet as much as my daughter did. In a world that can feel overwhelming and uncertain, I’m so grateful that we’re both learning the skills and confidence to protect ourselves. The owners, Sean and Ashley, have created a safe, welcoming environment, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the community they’ve built. If you’ve been thinking about starting, don’t wait. It may just be one of the best decisions you ever make for yourself and your family.

I could not be more proud to be a part of the Lotus Club Community. With Jiu Jitsu gaining popularity, there are gyms opening up on every corner it seems. Make sure to DO YOUR RESEARCH. Who is teaching your children? What kind of example do you want for your family? What accolades do they have? Make sure you find a gym that has proven results. You do not have to be a competitive athlete to train jiu jitsu. However, you can definitely see the quality of a jiu jitsu program based on competition results. A skilled competitor is also someone trained in effective self defense. They go hand in hand. Make sure you are learning from someone who is qualified as this can absolutely save your life. There are definitely other great jiu jitsu gyms in Phoenix, but there are also those who promote quickly and not based on merit but rather to keep members happy and paying. There are also gyms that unfortunately are not the safest environment especially for females and there are coaches/owners who do not have their students best interests. Find a gym and coaches that truly care about your development on and off the mats. I know my friends and training partners at this gym would drop everything to help others. I know we have a great community here. This is a happy place and a sanctuary for so many people. We also have a HUGE homeschool program that has been such a blessing for so many families. As one of the most established gyms here in Arizona, there is a reason why Lotus Club is such a respected name in the jiu jitsu community. Come check it out yourself and see if it would be a great fit for yourself and your family!

I spent the holidays in the Phoenix area and wanted to get some mat time in. I reached out via instagram to ask about dropping in. I heard back very quickly and was able to attend a 5am gi class. I heard about Lotus from a training partner - his brother is the 5 am coach. Small world. Solid techniques showed by Doug. Solid rolling rounds. Great group of people, very tough and technical. Mahalo for the hospitality and rolls! 🤙🤙🤙
