Every time we walk into the gym we feel welcomed. Every one greets one another respectfully and it feels like a family. I’m grateful we are able to train here. Thank you Rodriguez family. God bless.

The owner of the gym was very rude to me when I expressed I simply wanted to work hard and train at his gym, just because I have experience in other disciplines and because I am not a young teenager that can be molded. I’m not sure what his deal is, but stay clear of this place. You’ll leave feeling totally disrespected and unheard.

I stopped by today to enquire about membership and training. When I was speaking to the owner, he asked me if I had done other martial arts before. I told him I had done several, boxing included, but that I was just interested in boxing right now. He told me I was not allowed to train there because I had done other martial arts before. This is bizarre behavior that I have only heard of occurring in the context of McDojos. Don’t waste your time, this is clearly not a serious gym.

Just like the other reviews I experienced racism/discrimination while my story is a few years old it is worth noting that you guys are not alone! My story goes like this: a few years back I walked in,was very excited & happily introduced myself to the owner who was already being condescending towards me as he acted like he wasn’t interested in our conversation & felt like he was rushing our convo. After we chatted he asked how old am I and if I’ve done other styles which I said yes that’s when he stopped me and said “you want to be a cage fighter that’s why you’re here huh?” Which I said “no I’m not really into mma I just want to tune my hands up & maybe compete” then he proceeded to ask me my full name(I’m mixed race and my name shows that) which after I tell him he proceeds to say “yeah that’s the problem I don’t want YOUR KIND in my gym especially your age! Go to central or somewhere else I’m not wasting my time!” I’m not sure how the other family members are but AL the owners mentality is super outdated & just disgusting in this day age there’s no room for racism/discrimination in combat sports/martial arts and it’s not a good look as he is known to have a reputation for being this way amongst other boxers/boxing coaches in the metro area

"Four years ago, I tried a one-day session at this gym, but the experience discouraged me from continuing boxing. The owner emphasized inclusivity, but my interaction left me feeling otherwise. When I asked about one-on-one training (since the group sessions with children weren’t what I expected), he became agitated and made comments about my age and parenting that I found unprofessional. I decided not to return. I also witnessed him turn away an overweight individual and their sponsor in a manner that seemed insensitive. As someone who values supportive environments, I didn’t feel this gym matched its stated values. I’ve since found better places to train. While this review is delayed, I believe it’s important to share my experience."
