The instructor, Alex, is amazing. He has a great sense of humor and instantly makes you feel like part of the family. I came in as a complete newbie with zero experience, and in a short time I can already see how much my form has improved. I originally joined to find a fun way to lose weight, but I’ve grown to love boxing itself. Alex is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and always focused on helping you correct and refine your technique. Jesse at the front desk is also wonderful, she’s always so kind and welcoming. Together, they create an environment that feels like family from the moment you walk in. With the new year coming up, if you’re thinking about joining a gym, trying something new, or finding a sense of community, I highly recommend this place. It welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds. Give it a try! Y pa los que no hablan inglés, no se preocupen Alex es bilingüe! Las clases son de lunes a viernes 12 pm, 6 pm, 7:15pm y los sábados a las 11 am y 12 pm.

Where to begin. This is hands down the best boxing gym in Los Angeles. The classes offer authentic conditioning from instructors who have actual experience in the ring. Plenty of heavy bags, speed bags, uppercut bags. Two rings. A full gym area with weights and machines. You won't find the kind of community that exists at City of Angels at another gym in LA. After six months of training 5-6 days a week, I still find the classes exhausting / instructional. If you want to take it to another level, there are always trainers around for private training and the possibility of sparring. First class is free, with free use of gloves and wraps. Not sure what the reviewer below is referring to -- if you pay for a class and leave early - don't expect a discount. There's no business that offers a refund because you can't handle the workout. But if you end up staying be prepared to gain a lot of boxing knowledge, strength and good friends.

Here is where I sweat, and it's my happy place! Friendly and skilled coaches that take the time to help everyone with boxing technique on the bag and in the ring. Great programming for boxing, I want to be here every day. It's hard to take a rest day, and we all feel this way.

Friendly gym, very welcoming environment for people at all levels, massive area to work both with a guided class or solo, weights area and 2 rings. Super healthy environment, with a competitive side to it. NOT a cardio box/fitness gym, this is real boxing!
