About
Cobra Kai Karate offers training in both MMA and traditional karate disciplines, providing students with a comprehensive martial arts education. The gym operates with an intense coaching style that some members describe as highly effective for building confidence and skill, with one reviewer noting how karate training helped them overcome bullying. However, this intensity has drawn criticism regarding safety and professionalism, with multiple reviews mentioning injuries like broken hands and concerns about instructors not respecting personal boundaries. The facility itself presents a mixed experience, featuring a distinctive snake theme and some state-of-the-art technology that members appreciate alongside worn mats, outdated equipment, and maintenance issues that one reviewer compared to potential infestation.

Would only give one star, but the snake theme is cool and they have new state of the art technology... aside from that I am extremely disappointed in the teaching. First it was owned by Sensei Lawrence, then John Kreese took over and that was pretty bad... but it got worse when this random dude took over, everyone just calls him silver. I had to leave, everything got intense and I was left with a broken hand. Miyagi-do recruited me, and I have to say I have never been more at peace. 😉

Where to begin??? This establishment doesn’t even warrant the name. How they are still in business, I have no idea. The dojo employs very unprofessional sensei — like they just picked someone up off the street! He does not take into account the safety and personal boundaries of the students at all! Now, beyond that, the facility is in dire need of a major facelift. I almost expected to see cockroaches running past the entrance. It may look badass on the outside, but this dojo leaves so much to be desired once you step inside. The mats are worn, the equipment is outdated, and the whole place feels like it’s one bad day away from collapsing. - DMan2002
