Jun Shihan is an incredible teacher! He is so inclusive, firm yet playful and really has a way for kids to enjoy Karate! My son has made tremendous progress within 7-8 months. He looks forward to going every single class. At a young age of 5, he's had the opportunity to teach other younger kids. The focus that is taught in that class is so incredible for kids. I highly recommend Culver City Seido Karate to anyone looking to introduce martial arts to their kid!

My son has been training at this wonderful dojo for almost 9 years now. Jun Shihan Ted and other instructors have been an integral part of his journey. Ted teaches great karate techniques and also weaves in tidbits of life lessons into the instructions. The dojo feels like a second family that is friendly and positive. Great place to learn martial arts for kids and adults!

I am an adult student, a parent of a student, and also an instructor. I have studied under Jun Shihan Ted for over 20 years. Seido Karate philosophy is not about being the strongest or toughest but more focused on self-confidence and self-improvement. This karate school has helped me (as an adult with ADD) learn to focus better, lowered my stress and kept me fit at age 58. All of the people I've met through the adult classes have been very friendly and open. On the kids side-- Jun Shihan Ted is great with kids of all ages, having previously worked with children for LAUSD. He has a deep understanding of both teaching karate to kids of varius ages/ abilities and developmental coordination. There is a well-defined syllabus at all levels for both kids and adults that helps keep things on track.

My 10yr old has been coming to Culver City Seido Karate for over 2 years now and loves it! The Dojo has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere with a real sense of community. Jun Shihan Ted is an exceptional teacher with a wonderful approach to teaching kids. Along with karate skills, form and breathing techniques, Ted manages to incorporate good mind growth skills such as positivity, attitude and commitment. Attention is also given to learning the Japanese names for the karate stances and moves. The kids learn at a good pace that suits them and have fun in the process. We are glad we found this dojo. Highly Recommend!

Highly recommended! Our boys have been taking classes for a few months now but we are already seeing their motivation to achieve and learn more. Junshihan Ted is great with kids and our boys seem to have a good time in the dojo. Great place to start Karate.
