Eagle Rock BJJ is an amazing academy with the best Professors around to teach you all the fine details of every technique. I joined this academy with professor Raphael Carrao almost a year ago and couldn’t be any happier!

I’ve known Professor Raphael for almost 13 years and can personally testify that his jiu jitsu game is incredibly elite. More importantly, he’s an amazing teacher who cares for his students and knows how to properly convey the important details of any techniques or concept. I highly recommend that anyone in LA looking to get started or improve their jiu jitsu should start training with Professor Raphael. Anytime I’m back home in California, I’ll be back at Eagle Rock Jiu-Jitsu to train!

This place is just awesome! Rafa, the owner and one of the instructors, creates a welcoming culture for all class levels (kids, beginners, and advanced). All instructors are top notch and I even signed up my daughter. Great place!!

Over the past year, our son has been attending Eagle Rock Jujitsu, and the experience has been nothing short of incredible. Through the art of jujitsu, he's learned so much more than just self-defense--he's gained confidence, discipline, focus, and resilience. It's been amazing to watch his growth both on and off the mat. The coaches (Edson, Tristan and, Ethan) at Eagle Rock Jujitsu have played a huge role in this journey. Their dedication to the development of each child is evident in every class. They're patient, supportive, and always push the kids to be their best--not just as athletes, but as individuals. Professor Carrão has created a warm, welcoming environment that extends far beyond the training mats. His academy is a place where children and families feel seen, supported, and part of a larger community. It's a rare and special thing. I see you, Bobby! We feel incredibly lucky to have such a top-tier jujitsu academy right here in Eagle Rock, bordering Highland Park. Our hope is that our son continues his jujitsu journey well into adulthood under the guidance and mentorship of Professor Carrão and his amazing team!

I’ve been training here for a little under two years and can honestly say it is one of the most welcoming, supportive, and accepting gyms I’ve ever been a part of. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and teach to each individuals level of experience. The other members are extremely welcoming, respectful, and kind. This gym promotes respect and kindness while also challenging the students to push past their own perceived limits. In short, it has been such a gift to train here and I encourage any who are curious to try it out.
