Probably the best Muay Thai gym in Long Beach. Hands down. The gym itself is pretty impressive as well as the staff. Needless to say when you look for a gym you aren’t only looking at the facility or the curriculum, but more importantly the students that train there. Mission has a uniquely diverse community from all walks of life and they all truly love Muay Thai!

Mission Muay Thai literally saved my life! I walked into Mission after losing my dad because my dad wanted me to get back into my martial arts. When I walked in, I met Coach Angel and he had such great energy. When I took my first class, it was with Coach Andres. After, the class I stood on the mat and cried. Coach Andres came over to me and asked me did I need a hug and from there I knew that Mission Muay Thai was my family. They have such amazing coaches!! Coach Kru, Coach Andre, Coach Angel, Coach Jessie, Coach James and if I left anyone out my apologies. 😊 They all want you to win Mentally, Physically and Spiritually and it is your journey. Mission Muay Thai is like a family that I truly owe my life too because when I walked in there, I was broken and they made me realize the fight that I still have in me. There’s so much I could say about Mission Muay Thai, but All I can say is if you’re looking for an amazing atmosphere, great energy, amazing coaches and a genuine family Mission Muay Thai is where you want to train. I truly owe my life to Mission Muay Thai. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!

I’ve been to a lot of gyms all over the US. There’s plenty of good gyms, very few great gyms and every once in a while you’ll come across a gym that is excellent and that is exactly the experience I had at Mission. They have a supportive community, passionate coaches and an owner that truly cares about his community. This place has the magic that can only be described in person. Can’t wait to watch Mission blow up!

I'm brand new to Muay Thai. Prior to coming to this gym, I did Google searches and spoke with a colleague who trains Muay Thai at another location, but told me they heard positive things about the gym. The coaches are amazing, the classes are well thought out and facilitated, the students are all kind and welcoming. I'm rating 2 stars because of what I felt to be unprofessionalism that left me feeling defeated and questioning if I made the right decision to start a journey in Muay Thai with this gym. This would have been my 3rd week training, however, I won't have the ability to train because the gym will be closed for multiple weeks due to a code issue that the LBFD informed them of. I don't know much about building codes, so I cannot speak on whether or not Mission should have known of the code(s) they've failed to meet prior to now and before opening up. This is also the 2nd time I've experienced the gym canceling classes, the last time being 4 days ago. Again, this would have only been my 3rd week. I was informed of 2 classes that they would offer during the gym's closure, both of which would be at a park. Neither of which I'd be able to attend due to my work schedule. Additionally, I purchased an unlimited membership through Active & Fit. Active & Fit is a program that employers and health plans collaborate with to provide employees and insured members access to discounted fitness memberships to encourage preventive care through increased physical activity. The gyms listed in Active & Fit sign up to be listed on this site. Mission is a listed gym under the premium memberships. I signed up at the end of January for a February start. When I attempted to initiate my membership, the person helping me, while kind, seemed confused about what I was presenting to them. They tolf me they would get back to me. I came to the gym today, confused about the closure, and after talking with a person who I presume is an owner or someone higher up, though I'm not sure, I was told that my membership had not been started because Mission isn't a part of Active & Fit, but was then told that even though they canceled their partnership with Active & Fit, the partnership does not officially end until May 2026. Today is February 3, 2026, which means that regardless of your plans for post-May, it is your responsibility and duty to honor memberships purchased through Active & Fit because you are still a part of Active & Fit. Failure to do so is a breach of contract, because the money that I paid is money that the gym receives. I was then told how the gym loses money when people get memberships for them through Active & Fit--which has absolutely nothing to do with me. I was offered to receive 5 classes for the month instead of the unlimited monthly membership I paid for, because that was the only comparable thing that could be offered for the price I paid. While I understand they are a business and businesses need to make money to stay open, their financial issues with something they signed up for is not something I, nor any other consumer should be held responsible for. Additionally, telling me how you lose money because people use an available resource to purchase gym memberships, comes off as you're saying that you don't value people who came from Active & Fit because they don't help you reach your bottom line. Overall, I'm disappointed, frustrated, and feel disrespected. I was extremely excited and was talking to coaches about what it takes to progress in Muay Thai, traveling to Thailand to train, and the possibility of competing. But as I write this review I honestly have lost that passionate steam that was powering me through my days of being sore, tired, and nervous.
