Best Muay Thai gym I've been to. Also has jujitsu and boxing classes. The head coach Walter is an awesome guy. There are some good fighters here! Great for fitness even if you don't fight.

I’ve been attending classes here for about 4 and a half months and I highly recommend the gym. I came in for a free trial with no martial arts experience and completely out of shape after a bad health episode. The coaches here have been so friendly, supportive, and fun to work with through these challenges and have helped me get into the best shape I’ve reached in years. The owners, Kru Walter and coach June have built a really great culture here. Pat greets everyone who comes through the front door with a smile. Coaches Wilson, Lynn, John, Mike, and others all bring their own skillsets and background to the classes and help students of all skill levels develop. The other students and friendly to work and learn with. Going to Sityodtong has really become something I look forward to every day, you should really check it out!

I started training with Kru Walter since 1999. Being part Thai, I really appreciate the dedication of Kru Walt, and the rest of the staff on doing their absolute best in keeping up with Thai/Muay Thai traditions in America. Personally, I just couldn't be training anywhere that didn't honor or respect a culture they are passing parts of to other people. I just see it as theft at that point. Although awesome, there's more to my culture than the combative parts to it. Sityodtong LA branch was founded in 2003, and there's obviously a reason why it just had its 20 year anniversary. The training, culture, staff and community sells itself! Kru Walt has dedicated his entire life, blood, sweat and tears for Muay Thai and always makes an effort to bring our team to the home camp in Thailand and experience Thailand firsthand. That's not just it either. The Jiu Jitsu program is awesome as well. Coach Fernando is an amazing instructor and has dedicated his entire being to the art and culture. Together, he, Kru Walt and all the other coaches develop amazing champions. It really all depends on what your goals are. If you wanna fight, they got you covered. If you wanna be more fit, they got you covered. If you wanna be a little better out there on the street, they got you covered! And to be fair, you don't gotta be a fighter to train like one. And at the end of the day, it's family. Coach June has a long history in martial arts and is amazing with the kids. I've seen kids change for the better with her. The kids become more stronger both mentally and physically. Coach June's other classes that she teaches will also give you a good challenge and bring out the best in you. This training facility has a resume unmatched. You can always ask for a free trial and experience for yourself everything I mentioned. For newcomers, especially those that aren't currently physically active, or haven't been for a while, yes you will be sore in ways you might have never been before. Don't let it get to your head. This generally last a few weeks. You'll start noticing your body becoming more used to this type of training. Just keep with it and believe in yourself. Shoutout! Kru Walt, Coach June, Coach Fernando, Coach Wilson, Coach Lynn, Coach Chris, Coach Manny, Coach Mike's 1&2. Past and current champs. Collectively, you are all what makes this place great.

Kru Walter and the coaches (Wilson / Lynn / Machete) are great. I've been with this gym for over a month and my stamina has improved tremendously. I am more confident in my kicks and combos now than ever before ( no prior martial art experience). The staff is very supportive of adjusting your body stances and techniques. They provide great insight on setting up your body for seamless combos. They really push you to your limit but don't berate you. It's this attitude (along with other students attitudes) that give a safe environment to step in as a beginner and excel with no judgments. Although there are no belts to obtain to showcase your "experience", the ultimate way to show your results is by how fluid your combos and techniques are, how quick your body resets after blocking to return the attack. That in itself is something you will always take with you. Update: Coach Lynn is a current two belt Champion. Update: Coach Wil won his match at the fabled Lumpinee Stadium.
