Subconscious BJJ

I’ve been practicing at this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club for some time and I find it outstanding. Great instructors turning BJJ training into an efficient and fun experience. The atmosphere is super supportive and inviting so each session is always a joy. I loved it enough to introduce my 14-year-old son. He’s hooked on these lessons and eagerly awaits the next. Strongly suggest it for skill-building in enjoyable setting!

The training and instruction is second to none. The teachers are true experts of the craft and they guide every student and instruct them at their own pace and skill level with class and kindness. Brent, the head coach and owner is truly one of the most kind and gifted teachers, and a terrific BJJ player. There is a strong culture at the school, not only of martial arts but of family. There’s no ego, to brooding, none of that. All of the coaches instruction is world class, in most cases, literally. From some of the most elite BJJ players, commentators, and all around world champions, Subconscious provides one of the most conducive environments to learn. Subconscious holds some of the most exclusive seminars with opportunities to learn from some of the greatest names in BJJ: Roger Gracie, Gordon Ryan, Kit Dale, the list goes on. On top of that, there’s the annual Joshua Tree trips and access to all the affiliate schools. Subconscious, In my opinion, is one of the best and strongest academy’s out, certainly the best in Los Angeles.

Visiting from out of town, I had the privilege of dropping in for a class. Professor Brents' instruction was incredibly technical and detailed. What stood out was his willingness to take the time to personally correct my movements and thoroughly explain the fundamental importance of those adjustments. The entire group of students and instructors were incredibly patient and welcoming. I had a great experience and highly recommend this school.

Love this place! The professors and coaches are the best. My kids have been going for over a year and it is such a great experience for them. Professor Tim is the best kids coach I've been around! They are now in a new space and it's wonderful!

I moved to California two years ago to train at Subconscious BJJ. My Jiu Jitsu journey introduced me to school director Nicholas Gregoriades. When we met, he invited me along with my training partners to, if in California stop by for a class. Intentionally I moved to LA to train with Nic (knowing his brother Jason) and also gym owner Brent Burniston. Best thing I ever did. A week after arriving I reached out to Brent, attended my first class and it’s felt like home ever since. I love the saying, enter for the Jiu Jitsu and stay for the community. The quality of people and the level of training is the best I’ve experienced. Absolutely World Class!
