One of the best places to train in Sacramento. The trips and sweeps I've learned have been implemented in my jiujitsu game and it's made a difference.

I haven’t started training yet, but my friend goes here and has told me nothing but good things about the dojo and Coach Vadim. The way she talks about the training, the community, and how much progress she has made honestly got me excited to join myself. She always says the classes are structured, supportive, and focused, and that the coach really cares about helping everyone improve. Hearing how confident and strong she feels now makes me feel like this is the perfect place to start once I’m cleared after having my baby. I’ve stopped by the dojo a couple times and the energy feels really welcoming. Everyone is focused, but still friendly, and the training looks solid and professional. It definitely feels like the kind of environment where you can grow and push yourself without feeling judged. I can’t wait to start my own training journey here soon. If you’re thinking about joining, just come check it out. From what I’ve seen and heard, this place is worth it.

I absolutely love this place. Coach Evenbach is a very well-rounded martial artist, proficient in Judo, Sambo, and BJJ. This is one of the only places in Sacramento County that teaches Sambo. This is also one of the few dojos that offer 2 hour classes. You can also do drop-ins for this dojo.

Vadim was extremely rude and unprofessional. Our daughter ended up hating judo classes. According to her, he constantly humiliated kids. He tries to act like a “tough coach,” but in reality he is simply an abusive coach with an old USSR-style approach, where humiliating people — children or adults — is considered normal. Our daughter would come home crying, begging us to withdraw her from Vadim’s classes. He even claimed that the American judo system is weak and that he is the only “super coach” who can make kids champions — which is laughable. It has now been a year since both of our kids switched to another academy, and they have been improving every single day. For your information, we are not the only parents who experienced this abusive behavior from Vadim. I met another parent just today whose child went through the same experience. I do not recommend this place. Keep your kids away from it.
