Nemuri Kuma Jujitsu

This dojo feels like a truly traditional place to study jiu-jitsu. Instead of having many different instructors, there is a real sensei who consistently teaches the students and builds strong relationships with them. That continuity makes the training feel authentic and respectful to the traditions of martial arts. What I appreciate the most is how much attention the instructor gives to each student. The groups are small, so everyone gets personal guidance, corrections, and support. It really helps students understand the techniques better and improve faster.

Years ago I studied jujitsu under Sensei Larry and I still carry many of his teachings with me to this day. His patience, focus, and humor created an environment I wanted to be in and made learning enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Nemuri Kuma to anyone of any age, race, or gender and I would most certainly attend classes here again if I lived in the area.

Sensei Larry has been working with my 7 year old for almost 2 years, and we've seen great progress. He's not the most coordinated kid on the block, but through his patience and experience, Larry has been able to successfully teach him many of the essentials of Jujitsu. It has helped his self confidence physically and socially, and we will keep coming back as long as he can stand it.

Sensai Larry is amazing with the kids and has a sense of humor too which makes the class more fun for everyone! Highly recommend his jiu-jitsu class to anyone who's looking for somewhere they can feel comfortable from the beginning. My son loves it here so far. not much he'd rather do

My kids LOVE this place. We tried other martial arts studios, but this one is the best by FAR. Very affordable, education orientated, small class sizes, & attentive instructors... We'll be coming here for a long time! Highly recommended! Kids AND adult classes.
