Nexus Jiu Jitsu

Nexus is an amazing place with amazing coaches! My teen son had been interested for a while and was watching YouTube videos about Nexus when we figured out it was right here in our town! Drew, the owner, has been an amazing human to show my son the ropes, lead and guide him and has been a fantastic mentor for him. Billy has been an amazing coach as well and my son has gained so much skill from him, along with everyone at Nexus. As a mom, I appreciate my som having positive role models in his life and Nexus has just that. The rest of the staff and athletes he trains with have all been good people as well! If you are looking for a great place to train, this is it!

We’ve visited almost every jiu-jitsu gym in our area, and we chose Nexus because of the coaching staff and the training structure. The way Andrew and Elisha explain techniques and drill them is the best I’ve seen. Honestly, parents sitting on the benches and watching the classes probably learn jiu-jitsu themselves over time. But the results speak louder than any words — both of my sons won gold medals at competitions in Sacramento. I highly recommend this place, especially for parents who are serious about their kids learning jiu-jitsu the right way.

I’ve trained at gyms in San Diego, Japan, Eldorado Hills, Orangevale, Folsom, and Granite Bay and this is by far the best gym I’ve ever went to in my entire life. Coach Andrew is the best MMA/BJJ teacher around and my personal favorite. His teaching style is approachable for everyone and easy to understand for even the most inexperienced. Every fighter there is respectful of all skill sets, kind, and welcoming. I’ve never had a sense of community at any other gym like this one. I can’t recommend this place it enough, it has become a new passion of mine and gets me excited every single day.

I started training at Nexus last year, put my son in Jiu jitsu shortly after and my husband joined us this year. What started as a way to learn self-defense has turned into a love for MMA and Jiu jitsu that I can fully attribute to the focus and dedication of our coaches. Learning from professionals who care so much about their craft and and choose every day to spend their time teaching it to others is an unbeatable experience! I've seen more confidence in my son since he started jiu jitsu and knowing he's learning to defend himself puts my mind at ease for his future. If you've considered martial arts, self defense or are just looking for a fun way to get/stay in shape, Nexus is the place to be!

My son has been going to Nexus for about 2 years now and I can't say enough great things about Nexus Jiu-Jitsu and Coach Andrew. From day one, it's been evident how much he genuinely cares about his students’ growth, both on and off the mats. His coaching style is incredibly detailed, which makes all the difference, especially when working with children of all ages. I actually love that the kids’ class is combined with both the older kiddos and the littles. It’s an amazing way for these kids to learn diversity, stay challenged, and support one another. Coach Andrew’s ability to connect with his students paired with his meticulous approach to teaching, sets him apart as an exceptional role model for these kiddos! I am also thrilled with the amazing support from Coach Alicia and Coach Taylor in the kids’ classes. I 100% couldn’t leave a review without shouting them out because these women are unmatched!!! I absolutely love that there is such a strong female presence in the gym and these incredible women bring a level of expertise and encouragement that perfectly complements Coach Andrew’s leadership! A DREAM TEAM! I couldn’t be happier with our experience at Nexus! A gem of all gems! Highly recommend!
