Incredible place to train. The group was very welcoming to me as a newcomer, and the instruction is absolutely world class! I highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn/improve their BJJ.

I have studied at several martial arts studios over the years. I have attained my 1st degree black belts in both Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do. Jiu-jitsu is an entirely different animal and I wanted to see what it was like... This academy is one of the finest institutions of martial arts you will ever find. Marcos, the head instructor/owner, has decades of martial arts experience and nearly 2 decades of Jiu-jitsu experience. As an instructor, and as a man, he is as good as it gets. My fellow students and the higher ups are incredibly helpful and supportive of anyone who comes in and tries it out. Please, if you are considering BJJ, Yemaso BJJ is well worth your time and an excellent way to not only get in shape, but to learn discipline and self defense needed in this day in age.

Outstanding Training Experience I’ve been training for over 15 years, and I can confidently say that Marcos and his students made this one of the most welcoming and well-structured classes I’ve attended. As someone who travels frequently for work, I try to train wherever I go—and this place stood out. The instruction was top-notch, the environment was safe and respectful, and the community was incredibly friendly. I truly appreciate the hospitality and would highly recommend this academy to anyone looking for a great place to train with excellent guidance.

Marcos was so incredibly nice over the phone, took the time to explain everything and how it works to become a member there. I asked if I was able to try a few classes before I have to sign a contract. He said how it works is that everyone has to watch one class first, then they could participate in the next class. He said tonight was a great night to come in because it's women's only night. I got there early at 5:30 because Marcos said that's around the time to get there. I assumed that was because I needed to sign a waiver and maybe chat about my martial arts background. But ten minutes after I got there a women pulled up, I smiled at her and she just looked angry. She got out of her car and said "What, are you waiting for me?" I mean I don't even know who she was, so that was awkward and made me feel unwelcome. Then she unlocked the door and I started to bring in my scooter (Marcos already said I could) and she said "Oh sure, you can bring that in too!" It was condescending and made me feel even more unwelcome. I guess I should have explained that I did already get permission and was respectful about it, but my brain just shuts down when people are hostile. She then then tried to get me to sign a contract immediately. She said it was so that I didn't have to when I came back next. I said but I don't know any of the prices yet and don't have enough info, can I wait for later? She said oh don't worry about it, leave the rest blank but make sure you sign it. I told her that two other places did that to me before Eastern Ways and Extreme martial arts. I signed a blank contract and they started my contract over and changed the terms and it was my fault. I learned my lesson. So I told her no, I will wait to sign it until it's filled in with what I choose. She seemed even more hostile after that. Just super bad vibes. I'm giving 3 stars because I'm sure most people there are amazing and Marcos seemed great, but this woman rubbed me the wrong way and that was a huge huge red flag. I won't ever go back, I didn't even stay, I ended up grabbing my scooter and getting the heck out of there.
