We love Tokon! My son has been doing karate for 2.5 years now and he enjoys it very much. He is one of those kids that can’t stop moving, but his focus and attention improves when he’s at karate. Sensei Marcus and Sensei Christina are both really good instructors and they have a lot of passion for karate and the values behind it.

We love taking our son to tokon martial arts! He has been attending for almost 3 years now and Absolutely love it! Sensei Marcus and Sensei Christina are his instructors, owners of Tokon they are extremely personable and truely care about teaching the students the art of Shotokon Karate. My son attends the regular classes as well as the Elite competition training classes (ecp) Which are intense and prepare him for competitions. There he has learned discipline, has gained confidence and many friends along the way, that includes us parents because everyone at the dojo is like family. We couldn’t be more thankful and happy to have both Sensei Marcus and Sensei Christina in our lives!

Our son really enjoyed his time training here. The dojo has a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, and Sensei Marcus was patient, encouraging, and excellent with the kids as well as adults. It was also great to see many of the more advanced students helping and encouraging the lower-level students, which really speaks to the positive culture of the school. Stephanie and her staff were also wonderful—very organized, helpful, and great at keeping everything running smoothly. Our son was also happy that one of his school friends trained there, which made the experience even more fun and enjoyable. If we lived closer and our schedules allowed, we would have happily continued his training. We truly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend Tokon Martial Arts to families.

I am a third-degree black belt and have been training at this dojo for 12 years, since about six months after it first opened. It has made Karate a defining part of my life, and I have been able to connect with the community very well in the time that I have been here. Karate at Tokon is taught in a nuanced sense with lessons not only on how to train in Karate, but also on the history and philosophy of the art. Karate has made me a more disciplined and focused person, and has given me more motivation to accomplish things. Although the training here can be rigorous, involving hard work and deep reflection, I definitely recommend people try it out, and many people will find that Karate can be extremely beneficial to the mind and body.
