Master Purnell and his team of Masters are wonderful, awesome, teach our kiddos to be focused, and are always positive maintaining a positive environment! Our daughter really loves karate and especially having Master Purnell as her Master! Highly recommend!!

We started our 6 year-old at Allied Gardens Tang Soo Do and we are so impressed with the caliber of the instructor. Master Purnell definitely is amazing with the kids. My son wants to come every single day and in his words: "I LOVE it!" So happy to find this gem! Highly recommend!

Allied Gardens Tang Soo Do Karate Academy in San Diego is an absolute gem. We began sending our children to Master Purnell's karate classes last January and we couldn't be happier. Master Purnell is a phenomenal instructor, keeps the kids engaged and encouraged, while maintaining discipline and focus. During COVID, Master Purnell has constantly flexed the class options to accommodate everyone and maintain safety as his highest priority. If you're looking for a karate class to send your kids to, even during COVID, don't hesitate to give Allied Gardens Tang Soo Do your consideration.

Allied Gardens Tang Soo Do has been an incredible experience for our family. My 6-year-old daughter started just a couple of months ago and recently earned her orange belt — she absolutely loves it here! She also does ballet and gymnastics, and it’s amazing how Tang Soo Do complements those activities by building her strength, focus, and confidence. Master Kenneth Purnell runs the program with tremendous skill and compassion — he has a true command of the class while meeting kids where they are. Master Patrick Marsch and Master Clare Marsch are also outstanding instructors and role models, showing patience and encouragement with every student. The balance of discipline, respect, and warmth at this studio is rare, and highly recommend it to any family looking for both excellent martial arts training and a positive, supportive community.
