This academy is amazing! Coach Adam is an excellent bjj coach, a good person, and one of the best kids’ coaches I’ve ever come across. The facilities are nice, the classes are good for beginners and experienced people, and there is parking for members! Showers too 😊

Finally a MMA Gym in Downtown San Diego!! I have been training with Coach Adam since 2020. The way he teaches makes jiu jitsu less intimidating and easy to understand. There are also other women that train there which it’s awesome! Clean mats, clean bathrooms and a very welcoming environment.

I was in town for work and looking for a gym to train at, and I’m really glad I found Downtown Jiu-Jitsu and Fitness SD. I reached out ahead of time and the owner, Adam, was incredibly accommodating. Not only did he welcome me to drop in, but he even loaned me a gi since the class that day was a gi session. Adam taught a guard passing sequence that was both easy to understand and very effective. His instruction was clear and detailed, and it was obvious he’s a very knowledgeable coach. On top of that, he and all of the students were extremely welcoming and made the experience very enjoyable. The gym itself was clean and had plenty of space to train comfortably. If you’re in the area and looking for a great place to train, I highly recommend checking it out.

Had the pleasure of getting my blue belt from Adam after about 10 years off the mats. He's funny, keeps jiu-jitsu safe and fun, but still very effective. Any time I help other students, I try to teach the same way he taught me. Great guy and someone you can look up to on and off the mats.

Great gym - highly recommend anyone new or experienced drop in and get some training. I went just after they opened to an open mat on the weekend and had a blast. High level, super respectful and welcoming people who were also great training teammates and opponents
