Attended my first self defense class today with Gallegos Jiu-Jitsu, highly recommend. Everyone should attend a class like this as it empowers you to be ready to defend yourself. I will be returning next Saturday at 9am!! See you there!!

Great coach for the little ones. I been through three different schools of jiujitsu in Chula Vista and never seen this type of connection and understanding between professor and student.

I can’t express how much confidence, strength and brotherhood Alliance has given both my son and my husband. Such a wonderful place of acceptance that also challenges both the boys to show up as their best selves in everything they do. The classes instill so much more than jiujitsu techniques and tactics- Professor Elias and Cosmo are full of wise words and real life application. So very thankful for Alliance Eastlake and all of the professors, coaches and members.

I love the way Professor Elias teaches his self defense classes, he integrates life experiences into it, which helps grasp the move. Life in general is our biggest battle, you never know when you just might need to use one of these self defense moves on someone. I learned a lot today, but what I picked up on the most was knowing that I’m doing the right thing by pushing my daughter to continue in a combat sport and now even more in Jiu Jitsu. Thank you so much to all the other coaches I met as well! 💪🏼👊🏼🙏🏼

I'm writing this review from a visitor's perspective. I train BJJ in Los Angeles County, but travel to San Diego a few times in the year to see family and friends. Even though I'm on vacation during those trips, my love for BJJ still draws me to visit gyms in the area to get some training in and Gallegos Jiu Jitsu HQ has been a very welcoming and impactful experience! From meeting Professor Elias, and his black belt associates, Cosmo, Aaron, and Ricardo, they have all been nice and inviting, and patient with any questions that I had while drilling. Not only were the instructors a joy to talk with, but even the students were interested in learning more about me and were excited to drill and roll during class. I do appreciate the self-defense aspect of the BJJ training as opposed to the sport training. Due to their many members being cops or in the military, it's great to see an even deeper look to know what really works in real-world life threatening scenarios to protect yourself. Having been able to participate in both their gi and no-gi classes, I can confidently say that if you are looking for a Brazilian jiu jitsu gym in Chula Vista, then this is your spot!
