Gracie Jiu-Jitsu La Jolla

Been training here for almost 5 years. I couldn't have found a better place to train. Matt, the instructor and owner of the academy, is an excellent teacher. Everyone who trains here feels welcome and at home, and I'm sure you will too. If you're looking for a place to improve your self-defense skills or learn the art of Jiu-Jitsu, this is a great place to learn. All the students here are great and care about having good experiences while training.

My son has been going to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in La Jolla for a few years now. Not only does he love going to learn this art but the skills set, technique, and values that are taught are just what we are looking for. It has made my son a better person and he carries himself confidently. I can not recommend Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in La Jolla enough!

Gracie jujitsu is a local family owned martial arts studio for decades, in the heart of the Jolla. Gracie jujitsu has been a huge support of youth within the community, and throughout San Diego, as well as adults in offering classes for self-defense, truly to help each, and everyone of us, feel a little stronger, more confident, and capable of handling ourselves. Should the situation arise. In just one class, I learned a move that literally helped me feel stronger as I had been into compromising situations in public within the last six months where I felt very vulnerable when I was approached. I realized self-defense for me at 57 is something that I need to learn. I also felt more confident And I can’t wait to continue this journey with Gracie jujitsu La Jolla The owners are incredible as is their team of Masters and professionals! I am truly grateful for Gracie, jujitsu, La Jolla, and the Becker family for all they do to give back, for their kindness, their generosity to our communities, and for teaching me self-defense, along with my friends and teens! My daughter and I attended the free self defense seminar at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu La Jolla. We were so impressed and had so much fun, we joined!! Matt Becker is a wonderful instructor. Patient, kind and reserved time for questions. Definitely recommend!!

Matt and other instructors are really knowledgeable about BJJ , they teach students with patience and passion. I only took few trial classes at this gym , then moved to another other city due to work but will definitely come back again when I’m ready to make the commitment.
