My 9 year old son and I have been training at Maxwell's for the past 2 years, and we couldn't have been happier with the training, the instructors and the atmosphere. And its a real gym- there are real boxers, who compete in real fights, that train at this gym! You can get great exercise and real cardio, while actually really learning to box. We have both been learning a lot, and have really enjoyed the people and the classes. We started doing real sparring about 6 months ago, and its awesome. Getting to actually box with these people starts taking you to a different level. If you're looking for a real boxing gym for adults and for kids, I would definitely recommend Maxwells.

This isn't one of those "boxing gyms" where you just punch a punching bag with background music. This is an actual boxing gym. My teenage son has been going there for over a year. No other sports have stuck with him before until he started going to Maxwell's. The coaching staff are amazing, they are all dedicated, supportive and encouraging. My son doesn't usually talk to me much but every single time he goes there, he comes home happy, even when he gets all beat up. He can't wait to tell us what he learned that day. They have a program for younger children as well. Highly recommended!!

You know I was going to do a free-trial at the Top Rated boxing gyms in San Diego: Maxwell’s Boxing, Title Gym, The Boxing Club, and The Arena. I went to Maxwell’s Boxing Gym first and let me tell you this Gym is a One Stop Shop for everything you want and need as a boxer. This gym is more than a New Years Resolution, it’s the solution. I was going to the gym burning 440 cal a session, I went to one-class at Maxwell’s and burned over 1,500 cal! Lost 11lbs in 4-weeks having fun, training, and learning. If you’re looking for a boxing gym that treats you like family Day 1, cares about your personal growth as a human being, and physical growth as a boxer this is the Gym for you! I invited my neighbors, family, and friends and they all had such a great experience. From beginner boxer to pro-boxer, first time coach all the way to owner this is an environment that I’m happy to be apart of.

I was new to San Diego and this place made this foreign city feel like home. I love the hard work and dedication all the coaches put into this gym especially Coach Alvin and Sherman. I see these two every time I'm there without fail, and they train their students with so much heart and grit. They always strive to find new and innovative ways for the community to continue to grow and work out together and even offered free virtual boxing classes at the start of the pandemic! Ever since I moved out of SD, I've struggled to find a boxing gym quite like this one and I miss every single person there so much. If you're looking for a sense of community and an excellent place to work out and learn how to box for real, this is your spot.
