Overall an amazing Brazilian jiujitsu academy for all ages. Professor Dustin and Professor Matt have created such a welcoming and family oriented environment. The 5:30 am class has been invaluable for me to continue my own BJJ training journey. Also, the patience and care the coaches take for all the kids classes is great. They have a good balance of pushing the kids and making classes fun. My 10 year old daughter was nervous starting but they integrated her in patiently, slowly, and very well. Now she loves going to every class.

Studio 33 is the BEST. Just show up, and from day 1 you will be welcomed into a family. Our son has been practicing at Studio 33 for two years now, and we’ve seen how Coach Dustin and Coach Matt (along with all the other coaches there) take their time with him to help him become strong and confident, more focused and regulated both on and off the mat. They use jiujitsu to teach kids valuable lessons about life. The other families are so kind and we love seeing our kids grow together. It’s also a fantastic workout that teaches discipline, practice, and will help your children out in all areas of their health. We can’t recommend this studio highly enough!

Awesome experience dropping in at Studio 33. I was in town visiting family and showed up for their Sunday open mat. The rest of the team was away at a competition so I got to roll with their black belt, Prof. Omar, for five rounds. Got my butt kicked with a smile and learned a ton. I hope to train here again next time I’m in town. Thanks again, Omar!

My kids have been coming here since October 2023. My daughter was 4 and my son was 6 when they started. Professor Dustin & Professor Matt have been more than amazing with them. Not only do the coaches teach them drills and technique but as a parent I so appreciate how they incorporate life lessons about focus/discipline/commitment/winning and losing/how to treat others, etc into their teachings. Additional back story for parents who are looking for their kids: My son had behavioral issues at school before he started here. I spoke to a behavioral analyst and she told me a lot of little kids (she's seen more so with boys) have tons of energy that need to get out of their bodies but when it sits in them it shows up as inappropriate behavior especially in places like a classroom setting. She recommended I put him in something that really tires him out. So I landed at this studio and his behavior since then has been night and day. The sport has really helped him have a healthy outlet to get his energy out. He loves it so much and even has become obsessed with competing in the sport. He lost his first competition he signed up for but I think losing was one of the best things that has happened to him because now he's committed to getting better and his coaches have really supported him through that. I am very grateful for studio 33. Thank you Coach Dustin & Coach Matt! —- Feb 2025 Update — It’s been 1.5 years of our family being with this studio and we are still loving it. I wanted to update our review to give more input on any kiddos who may want to start competing in tournaments. My children are grey/white belts now and competed in about 10 tournaments last year while they were white belts. Their coaches Professor Dustin & Professor Matt really supported them. The coaches are all very supportive of whatever your competition goals are- they don’t push them but will support you if you want it. My kids love Friday Competition Class which is open for any kids who are interested in getting Competition Ready. We have a competition board where we will write down upcoming tournaments and the names of any kids or adults signed up. The families at this studio are all so welcoming and friendly. They are all willing to help and explain the competition culture and competition days are so much fun! The girls love competing because they all do matching braids, it’s super cute. My husband also ended up joining Jiu Jitsu in the AM 530 classes and goes consistently 4-5x per week. He loves it for bonding with our children through the sport, for great exercise and he also started competing! He has done 5 competitions and is signed up for 3 more in the next coming months. If you are interested in joining a studio just to learn about the techniques/sport then this is a great studio to check out. If you are looking for a studio and have goals of competing then this is also a great local studio to check out!

If you're looking for a solid group to learn and practice jiu jitsu with, Studio 33 is it. My daughter has been training here since 2022 and enjoys every minute of it. We've noticed a huge improvement in her mental fortitude and a tremendous boost in her self-confidence. The camaraderie and support at this gym are simply unmatched. Professor Dustin and Professor Matt (along with all the other coaches) genuinely care about their student's growth and development and always provide honest feedback. If you're considering this gym, don't hesitate—give it a go! You won’t regret it!
