Joel is one of the best BJJ guys in the business. He teaches with knowledge and experience gained from many different instructors, which makes the techniques he shows very relatable to all styles.I enjoyed the vibe and level of all the students as well. Highly recommend 🙏

Love training at Surfight anytime I’m on that side of town. Every professor there has a wealth of knowledge and it is a one of a kind environment. Whether you’re curious about jiu jitsu or more experienced, you really can’t go wrong here. Great vibes all around!

Joel is super cool! Got a chance to stop in at an open mat to watch him study and go over problem solving of unique positions. As an older guy who just turned 40 these guys understand how to be safe and still work. Sick vibe with a lot of good energy In the room. Joel is a gem at his own gym. Place even comes with a chess board and feeling the ocean breeze role in is sick. Can’t recommend it enough if you’re in Del Mar. It would be a dream to open up a gym with this type of vibe. Next time I’m in Del Mar I’m excited to get some roles on the mat with the team.

Surfight is a top notch world class gym. Amazing instructors, great training partners, and a phenomenal facility. If you’re a day 1 beginner with no experience this is an incredible place that is very safe and friendly. If you’re a high level competitor you’re going to get very high level training here too. There is something for everyone here!
