I have been training at this dojo for over four years and I really enjoy it. The sensei (instructors) and other students are very supportive and respectful of each other, which makes the dojo feel like a family. The sensei particularly emphasize proper body alignment in each technique in order to increase effectiveness and avoid injury. Another idea that is discussed in class is the use of martial arts for self improvement; applying lessons from karate into everyday life. Overall, I definitely recommend this dojo to anyone who is interested in learning martial arts in a safe and fun environment.

Friendly and open class for those who want to learn martial arts and get a good workout for the day. Well maintained facility and the class has a healthy balance between a friendly community yet teaches a serious mindset for those who want to deeply take in martial arts.

I’ve been training here for 5 years now and it has been a wonderful experience. The senseis have such a passion for helping you to be the best person you can be. The class mainly focuses on karate, but also occasionally adds in judo and self-defense techniques. It is a great way to get in a workout and to meet new people. Everyone in the class has been so helpful and friendly, they are very welcoming to newcomers. I highly recommend this dojo!

Such a fantastic place to train! I initially began training here back in 2010 because I wanted a new physical fitness activity and was bored with my typical exercise routines. I had never taken a martial arts class before, but the Sensei were so kind and encouraging that it kept me coming back. They know when to be patient with me and when to give me an extra nudge. Now, I can’t imagine leaving my dojo family. The dojo has not only been a place where I learn self-defense, but also a place that helps me grow as a person from all the life lessons. The instructors are phenomenal and genuinely want to help you become the best martial artist you can be. The Sensei will adjust their teaching plan each session based upon what they can tell the students need that particular day. The style is traditional Japanese karate, but there are other martial arts styles mixed in as well. I’ve also had a great deal of fun working with various weapons during Kobudo training. There is ample parking available, including an overflow parking lot less than a block away. The dojo is spacious and has a wall of mirrors, which I find very helpful when working on basics and kata since I can refine my movements. The dojo has knowledgeable Sensei, fantastic skill building activities, fun workouts, great group of fellow students, no long contracts, and no belt test fees.
