Best self defense class I've been to. I started in this school when I was 16, and it helped me, over the years, be disciplined in talking to people and how to disarm people with guns, knives, handcuffs, and swords. They really trained you to be brave and show compassion towards your fellow classmates. Cons: They don't operate 7 days a week, so you need to adjust your schedule with what they have available. Pros: The teachers are very well trained to give you all the knowledge you need to kick butt. Neutral: You have to pay for your uniform. 😊

I knew nothing about martial arts, let along aikido, but was interested in the technique and dropped by the Aikido Institute of SF out of sheer curiosity. Little did I know that I would be welcomed into the dojo with such warmth and encouragement from the other aikidoka and the instructors. The fluid yet strong movement and the principles of aikido - non-aggression, non-competition - have kept me coming back to this practice. The monthly dues (around $100) are an incredible value for the knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated instruction you receive.
