I started going to City Sports SF in September 2025 and I am very pleased with the personal trainers, specially Edwin, Trevor, Cole and Jack that I had sessions with. All are very professional and they assess your needs accordingly. I also like the swimming pool, their classes in Aqua Fit, Zumba, and Yoga that I have attended. I plan to spend more time on other classes when my time frees up. Thank you especially to Edwin, who has helped me tremendously in understanding the why of my body challenges and how to improve and strengthen them. I am learning a lot, and I am having fun too, meeting a lot of people!

My experience has been great for the most part at this gym. I typically go close to when they open, and it’s not as busy for the most part. The cleaning crew in the morning work very hard and I appreciate them maintaining and keeping a clean environment. I have gone a few times in the afternoon and some gym members have poor gym etiquette leaving their dirty sanitizing wipes all over and trash on the floor. The locker rooms are clean in the morning when I go and I haven’t had any issues. My only feedback would be to encourage the front desk to engage more with the gym members and stay off your personal devices - I don’t think it’s professional.

I work out here and have a subscription since a year and a half, the personal training is good but the are many issues with the place: The jacuzzi tub hasn’t work for the entire time that I’ve been a member of this club, however they still advertise it as one of its amenities. Their sell tactics are very aggressive and they kept spamming a friend that I added as my reference for a possible one time free visit. Their sell tactics are very questionable and sketchy. It’s always smelly and packed. For several months the shower curtains were covered in grime and slime and although many people complaint it took them like 6 months to replace them. I even stop showering there altogether and now I only go for my training and leave right after. Seems like this place is all about maximizing their profits over actually providing a nice experience for their customers. Not nice. Ps. Please fix the jacuzzi tub!

Pros: Tons of equipment. Cheap membership. Staff friendly. Cons: lots of equipment broken. Dirty. Pool and locker room stinks. It’s unfortunate to try 5 precor elliptical machines to find out the 6th works. Clean up your gym and fix your machines promptly.

Unfortunately they keep getting more and more people, making more and more money without caring in maintaining the place for people already there. The gym is quite dirty mostly around and under the equipments, and I can’t even imagine in how long this space it’s without seeing a deep cleaning. In addition, it does not matter what time you go, you are going to have to wait to use the main equipments. The gym is always full. The only good side for me is that’s close home and the less expensive gym around.
