Awesome experience and I felt the love as soon as I saw the interaction with my kids. This is the standard of Gracie Jiu Jitsu, you are family and you learn together. You will not be disappointed. For someone that was traveling I loved the opportunity to check into a fellow Gracie CTC. This is will be my must stop every time I am back in Oakland.

Gracie coaches create an upbeat environment and are very welcoming to the families. I appreciate how the teaching style stays very positive the whole time (and I have observed many classes.)  The teachers are great with the kids. They have clear communication styles, and bring some fun into the program such as games.  My child has enjoyed her time, developed some confidence,  and is well supported by the program.

Our kids have been having a great time at this school! The Gracie University curriculum is really well-structured. The coaches are awesome. They teach BJJ techniques safely while keeping it fun and positive. I appreciate the attention to detail and additional training in assertiveness, deescalation and covering when and how to use the techniques to minimize harm. It’s so great to see the students smiling while learning and forming friendships at the same time!

My hubby goes to this place on regular basis and he really likes their approach. I also like the fact that he has not got any injury since he switched to this place. I recently attended their women self defense training. I was able to master a few techniques within one session and effectively beat my hubby at home! Very impressed! We plan to send our daughter there once they are able to expand the facility. I think it will be great for their confidence building.

My daughter started doing Jiu Jitsu over a year ago. Because of the atmosphere, amazing coaches, and welcoming community, she would love nothing more than to do Jiu Jitsu all day every day. Their welcoming, encouraging, and easy to follow instructors make learning something new fun and achievable. Coach Mark is patient, thorough, caring, and just brings so much talent and enthusiasm, time flies by when class is in session. He and Coach Chelsea care about technical training AND safety. As an adult enjoying their classes with my husband, we have learned so much in just a few months. The classes are so practical and useful. I feel more confident and comfortable in my body and just love learning how to care for myself and others better should sketchy physical conflicts ever arise off the mat.
