About

Koret Health and Recreation Center offers a comprehensive fitness experience with specialized disciplines including MMA, Muay Thai, and kickboxing alongside extensive amenities. The facility features the largest indoor pool in the area, a 50-meter by 25-yard Olympic pool with deep ends up to 13 feet, which members praise for lap swimming and practice dives. Additional amenities include sports courts for basketball and volleyball, group exercise classes, and private or small group training options, creating a versatile environment for both martial arts training and general fitness.

reviewsWhat Members Say

Members frequently praise the Olympic swimming pool, describing it as great for lap swimming and rarely crowded, with specific appreciation for water aerobics classes and deep diving practice. Several reviewers highlight excellent value through discounted passes for seniors, USF alumni, and disabled individuals, though some note restrictions on visit times. Concerns include inconsistent hours during student holidays and summer early closures at 7 p.m., which some members feel weren't adequately disclosed. A few reviewers report negative interactions with staff they describe as rude or overly policing during workouts.

Well kept facility in middle of SF. Passed available for USF alumni, Seniors and Diabled people. I come mainly for the Olympic swimming pool It’s great for practice swimming 25yard laps. Has deep ends to 13ft for practicing deep dives. The gym has all other facilities for working out, stretching, combative and martial arts, basketball and volleyball courts.

If you’re 55 or over you can get a 15 visit pass for $4 a visit. Unless you plan on going to the gym more than 4 days a week, there isn’t a better deal in the city. They have a good selection of weight machines, free weights, cardio equipment and the biggest indoor pool in the area that’s rarely even close to full. Only limitation is you have to visit before 2PM M-F, and when school isn’t in session they’re closed Sundays.

BEWARE: RUDE STAFF! They will police you while you workout and call you out in public. How rude can you get and BTW, we‘re paying long-time members in good standing. Shame on you!

Awful experience. The gym is often closed during student holidays, and in the summer it closes at 7 p.m., which is not mentioned when you purchase an annual membership. I would avoid this place and go to a regular gym with normal opening hours.
