reviewsWhat Members Say
Members report significant frustrations with equipment maintenance, noting broken items like the hot tub often take months to repair. They describe overcrowded weight areas during semesters, damaged weight plates, and inconsistent rule enforcement. Communication issues are common, with schedule changes only announced on Instagram and poor staff training mentioned repeatedly. While some appreciate the bouldering wall and functional amenities, most reviews emphasize cleanliness problems, organizational chaos, and management failures that detract from the training experience.

Gym is great WHEN things work, cause when something breaks… expect it to be fixed after the semester is over or at the earliest a month after. Example, I am literally one of 5-10 people that use the giant hot tub which is dope but once it breaks I might as well just ignore it for the rest of the semester cause it ain’t coming back, and how does it even have a problem??? Nobody uses it so how does it malfunction when the pool is used all the time and is usually fine.

They need to put more benches and free weights in the gym. During the semester, everyday the free weights are packed while 15 treadmills are just sitting there collecting dust. If people want to run, there are multiple tracks on campus and plenty of sidewalks and grass. What is this? Planet Fitness? I love cardio, but this is dumb. Not to mentions all the guys sitting on their phone for 10 minutes between each set. The gym culture is not great. I assume that's because there's always an influx of people who are not familiar with the gym. Also, the pool should have more lanes instead of a large chunk of space dedicated to being a kiddie pool. Also, the vending machine in the gym is filled with junk food. Where are the protein bars and shakes? There is like 1 protein bar in the vending machine and 80% of the time, it's empty. Guess, I'll just eat some chips after the great workout session I had. WHERE'S THE PROTEIN. It's also hot in the gym. Bouldering is cool though.

I've been at since 2022 and this place has only gotten worse. It's run like a circus, there is no training for the students that are paid to work there and answer the phones or for the students that use the facilities, and they have no actual standards, even if they were planning on training anyone. From street shoes in the sauna to inconsistent equipment check-in/out procedures to facilites that are filthy and broken, this place has been an absolute dumpster fire, fuelled by the fee-dollars of the student body. It's a wast of time, a wast of money, a waste of salaries, and a waste of a perfectly good idea: that students should develop healthy bodies in addition to healthy minds. First an foremost this is an administrative failure. Second, the absolute lack of attention and sensitivity to quality should be galling to anyone that has ever used a gym or been trained in high school. And third, that none of the students know enough to complain only benefits this toxic status quo. Shame on the entire apparatus. Enjoy my fee dollars.

It's mid at best. If cleanliness and general looks are what your worried about then this place is for you. There's a dumb platform sign up rule that only half of the people follow and basically none of the staff enforces. The equipment in the gym is decent but the weight lifting areas are small. The most egregious thing is that whenever they change their operation hours you won't know unless you follow their instagram. Totally makes sense not to have it somewhere visible by the entrance or have the employees tell the people coming in that their hours changed for that day :). Also a lot of the plates used for weight lifting are damaged in one way or another and there aren't enough plates for everyone to be frank.
