I’ve been training for over a year here. Sifu Ely has a wealth of knowledge, experience, & resources. The community is great and the culture is that of a small (and extended) family. There are seminars annually which bring that extended family together and boosts your Kung Fu. If you’re contemplating, it’s absolutely worth setting up an introductory visit. I would recommend asking some good questions. Everyone has different reasons for learning a martial art. You may find Denver Kung Fu to be a great fit. Even if you don’t, you won’t regret an evening being introduced and learning about this traditional and honored fighting form. I am sticking with this one for a while.

*Updating my review: Going on 3yrs of training with Sifu Ely at Denver Kung Fu! Has been an amazing journey so far and I couldn't be more excited for my personal growth and what is to come. Was oblivious to this style of marital arts when I scheduled my intro class. Quickly fell in love with the practice, individual challenge and growth, and the community. Have been practicing for 6 months here and sincerely feel welcomed into this community of wonderful people who inspire me to grow. Personally, I cannot imagine discontinuing my practice. Looking forward to more classes and growth

So happy I found this place. I signed up for 2 week trial and signed up for membership after 1st class I was so impressed. I’m new to martial arts but I’ve always felt comfortable. The other members have all been very welcoming. I have found the evening class to be a really nice way to wind down the day. They also do a nice job with virtual classes if needed. Can’t wait till my next class.

It has now been over 2 years since I started training here. The space, the community, and the Sifu all make up this slice of paradise we are so lucky to have in Denver. Anybody can do this but it's not necessarily for everyone... We work very hard on "weird" ideas with tons of repetitions. I remember feeling the benefits of this kind of work early on. Shortly after that I began to notice how the benefits began to feed back on themselves and in bigger and more important ways as time progressed. At this point I feel like I have been completely transformed as a biological human as well as a person. It has obviously improved my physical condition, but it has also helped me have a heightened sense of calm, more awareness in general, and just way better physical balance. As far as training with partners goes, we work hard on each other as well. We are always challenging one another in unique and SUPPORTIVE ways. As I said up top, the amazing community and culture is part of what makes this school and this family so special. I'm looking forward to continuing my progress here for many years to come. THANKS SIFU!!
