Teep City Muay Thai is hands down one of the most welcoming and supportive gyms I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that it’s a safe and positive environment for everyone—no matter your age, experience level, or gender. It’s the kind of place where beginners feel comfortable starting out and more experienced students still feel challenged and supported. A huge part of that atmosphere comes from the incredible coaches, Eric and Maka. They bring such great energy to every class and genuinely care about each student’s progress. They’re patient, encouraging, and always willing to take the time to break things down so everyone understands the technique. You never feel rushed or overlooked. They make sure every person in the room feels included and confident. Whether you’re looking to learn Muay Thai for fitness, self-defense, or competition, Teep City is the perfect place to train. The community they’ve built is respectful, motivating, and truly uplifting. I can’t recommend this gym enough!

We've been with coach Eric since he started his business. I love the positive attitude he brings to his studio. I love that this is a family affair and there's younger siblings playing together off of the mat. The kids work hard but also have fun. He's started more kids classes which makes it convenient to pick around other I'm after school activities. All of the other coaches are great here too. Really patient with the kids and watching technique. I don't have enough good things to say. I hope my kids keep at it and continue as teenagers.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this gym and the coaches here. Training in Muay Thai has been such a rewarding experience, and Coach Maka and Coach Eric have been absolutely phenomenal. They strike the perfect balance between making you feel comfortable and pushing you to grow. They truly care about your progress and always take the time to make sure you understand the technique, not just go through the motions. As a woman stepping into what can feel like a male-dominated sport, I was definitely intimidated at first. But from day one, I felt welcomed, respected, and supported. The environment here is positive, encouraging, and empowering. The other students are just as kind and motivating, which makes such a difference. The coaches genuinely go the extra mile for every student, no matter your experience level. If you're thinking about trying martial arts but feel unsure about where to start — especially women — this is your sign. This gym is the place to do it.

I cannot say enough good things about this gym. From day one, I’ve felt supported, challenged, and truly seen as an individual. What stands out the most is how the coaches take the time to work with each person one-on-one during every class. No one gets lost in the crowd. They correct technique, answer questions, and genuinely invest in your growth. As a woman, I’ll admit that some gyms can feel intimidating or awkward especially in combat sports. But that has never been my experience here. This gym creates an environment that is empowering, respectful, and encouraging. I’ve never felt out of place. In fact, I’ve felt lifted up. The coaches even use me as an example during class at times, which has boosted my confidence in ways I didn’t expect, not just as an athlete, but in my overall sense of strength and personal safety. That kind of encouragement matters. If you’re looking for a gym where you’ll grow in skill, confidence, and community, this is it. I’m so grateful to train here.

I love this gym and we are here every week. I’ve been training with Coach Eric since before he started Teep City and followed him here. He’s the best coach and is genuinely invested in his students no matter what your starting point is. Whatever your goals are for learning how to fight, he’ll help you achieve them. When he started kids classes I signed my 8 year old daughter up, and then my teenage daughter joined too. As females we really love and appreciate this gym. The male members and coaches are so friendly and welcoming and they train us equally 100% of the time. We always feel safe and challenged to be better at the sport at the same time. There are plenty of great and supportive women here too. If you’re a female looking to learn real self defense that’s more than cardio kickboxing, but are nervous about the environment, then this is definitely a place you should check out. Coach Maka and Coach Joel are also major favorites of ours! The sense of community they are creating is awesome and we love getting to be part of it.
