Master Bourelle is an amazing traditional Korean arts instructor and practitioner, as well as a licensed and certified physical fitness trainer and coach. My kids love the after school program, as do I. I was motivated to start training here as a middle-aged adult as well due to having always wanted to train in a martial art, but also to share the experience with my children. It has been great and I look forward to being a member of the Bourelle Martial Arts family for years to come. This is not the watered down, game of tag taekwondo you might see at the Olympics. Discipline, fitness, balance, and proper execution, underpin the traditional and practical self-defense oriented instruction at this dojang. Topped off with fun and functional games for the after school students, my kids love it and I know they are learning a great lifelong set of skills. As an adult student of both the Taekwondo program (available to kids and adults) as well as the Hapkido program (traditionally only available to older students) I 100% recommend the programs offered here.

By far my favorite martial arts school in WIlmington! This school is perfect for those looking for the most practical experience and training in self defense. I am 24 and have been a practicing martial arts on and off for the past 9 years. I started taking classes for a few months, but had to take a long hiatus due to work. Although I fully intend to return as soon as possible!

Dan Bourelle is a great martial arts teacher. He has a lot of patience with kids and spends a lot of one on one time ensuring everyone is learning the skills. Kids who tend to get distracted quickly- Dan teaches the self discipline skills and shapes their behavior one step at a time all the while teaching them effective self defense and live saving skills. I am glad I signed up both my kids at Bourelle Martial Arts and wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking to learn some great skills and have a healthy lifestyle.

My son has been studying with Bourelle Martial Arts for close to six years. Our original intent was to have after school care and help with his homework. Bourelle Martial Arts is so much more than that. My son is learning respect for himself and others, self discipline, courtesy, integrity and perseverance. All attributes we want to see in ourselves and certainly expect to pass on to our children. BMA is more than an after school program. Our family considers BMA as family. Together we ALL are raising my son to become a fine young man. Thank you BMA.
