For those who think a Boxing Gym is supposed to look like Mighty Micks, the North Philadelphia hell hole from Rocky, guess again. Right here in Downingtown is Society Boxing and Fitness, a different kind of gym. Conveniently located at 441 Boot Road, Suite 200, Society Boxing is a clean, modern, and fully equipped gym. Adherents of healthy living have long recognized that those who practice the Sweet Science are the best conditioned athletes in sports. Combining cardio, strength training, and the elements of self defense, Society Boxing is in the business of improving the health of their members. The trainers, Owner Andrew, Jorge, and Mike are all accomplished boxers and experts in the Martial Arts. The facility is gorgeous; fully stocked with modern equipment and supplies. The entire place is clean and attractive. Men, women, and kids are welcome; and the membership fees are very reasonable. A word of caution; this is not a gym for those with a tender constitution. This is a boxing gym, not Planet Fitness. You're expected to work. My 14 year old trains here, improving her health, and learning how to protect herself; something all fathers should want for their daughters. I highly recommend Society Boxing and Fitness. Stop by and check it out.

I don't think a written review can do Society Boxing and Fitness justice, but I'll try. From a pure fitness and confidence standpoint, I absolutely love what I get out of going here. I like to lift and run a lot, but I come here and the workouts challenge me in new ways. The classes are half stretching/HIIT workout, half boxing on the heavy bags. Every day the workout something different, using all parts of your body with plenty of varying movements to push you in new ways. I was in good shape when I first started attending, but I feel like my overall fitness has improved considerably. As for the boxing, it's challenging, and I'm not very good at it, but it gives me a new way to push myself and overall, it's given me more confidence to be able to take care of myself if there was ever a need. I would highly recommend to anybody, especially women, as a form of self-defense. I've been taking the advanced (skills) classes and learning a lot. It's challenging to the point that it's humbling, but I've really enjoyed learning a new sport and it's amazing how many small technical details you can learn. But above and beyond all this, I love the people there — my fellow members and the coaches. It's family in there, everybody is very welcoming and friendly. I've been a little worried about maybe having to relocate and the first thing that always comes to mind is how much I would miss Society. I absolutely love it there. Such a great experience, such great people. 50 out of 5 stars.

I have been working out at Society Boxing for many yrs. I have trained with Ken and now Drew.I work out with individual boxing sessions with Drew. Emotionally and physically I reap the benefits of working out. Both Ken and Drew are excellent trainers. I have learned so much about the science of boxing. Hand placement, footwork, stance, breathing, focus. I am challenged every time I do a session. I am now 67 yrs old and working out slows down my aging process. I am very fortunate to have joined this gym, super nice people,I haved learned so much and I feel really good.

I started taking boxing lessons with Drew once or twice a week when I got sober over 7 months ago. I’m a bouncer at a karaoke bar and enjoy knowing that I am able to protect people that would normally be picked on in their everyday life. It’s a place where a certain demographic can be their true selves. With all that said I started coming to Society Boxing because my dad goes there for cardio so I figured I’d do the same. It eventually turned into Drew teaching me how to be able to not only defend the people at work that need protecting but now I’m confident that I’ll be able to protect myself. Obviously, I hope to never use what I learned from drew in the real world but my confidence builds every week. I’m a former wrestler so he helps me incorporate things that I already know with added boxing techniques and combinations. He makes the sessions feel less like a workout by constantly switching things up. I SUFFER from ADHD and Drew is so patient since I struggle with remembering the numbers associated with the punch combinations and can be easily frustrated with myself. Overall , this place is just full of patience, kindness, professionalism, non judgmental and knowledgable employees. Thank you for everything, Society Boxing and Fitness!
