Outstanding Dojo with a highly experienced Okinawan Karate instructor, Sensei Kevin. I honestly cannot say enough about this gentleman's teaching style. The children ALL look up to him. I wish more people knew about this gem of a dojo. Sensei Kevin does not take nonsense from the kids but he is just and fair. The kids respond positively to his instructions and there is a feeling of camaraderie in the dojo. This is all due to his guidance and inspiration. My children have been going for a while here and I cannot recommend it enough. Do your homework and come to this dojo, you will not regret it.

Have had my girls in several other karate schools in the area and this is the only one they connected to all due to the sensei being strong yet respectful; provides leadership and strength; someone the students all admire and look up to; he builds confidence and truly teaches.

My boys have been attending karate classes here for 2 months and the instructor is amazing with the kids. The kids love attending class and are motivated to continue to learn and can't wait to move up in belt.🥋

The most outstanding Dojo I have ever come across. Since I was a kid and in the military I have training in all kinds of dojo’s around the world but none ever came close to being as good as shimamoto dojo. When it comes down to learning the original style of Okinawan karate-do you don’t need to look any further then shimamoto dojo. Sensei Kevin experience and teaching style are outstanding, a proven master in the Okinawan karate-do style. Sensei Kevin is an outstanding teacher not just for the kids but as well as for the adults. I had the honor of being one of his student and I highly recommend this dojo to any one that is in reach of an outstanding teacher as well as a dojo.

My son has been going to Shimamoto Dojo for 4 years. Sensei Kevin is great, he has the right balance of patience and discipline. There are many classes with different age groups and belt levels. I highly recommended it.
