The gym atmosphere receives positive comments for its energetic vibe and good staff, though equipment issues and extreme crowding during peak hours are frequent complaints. I’ve officially been going to this Crunch for a year and I’ve been training with Ennis for six months. I couldn’t be happier with the experience. He’s incredibly motivational and always pushes me to be stronger while still making workouts feel achievable. Every session challenges me in the best way, and I’ve seen real progress in my strength and confidence. I highly recommend Ennis to anyone looking for a trainer who truly pushes you to be your best. 1/8- Just wanted to add a quick update as proof. My 6 month check in - this is month over month not overall.

A coworker of mine turned me on to Crunch Fitness and his personal trainer. I’ve tried work outs before and I’ve never stuck with it for more than a few weeks. Now both me and my coworker are working with Ennis at the East Colonial Dr, Crunch. Within two months I’ve gained muscle mass, flexibility and overall better movement. I was always afraid of work outs and never got into a routine. Ennis is an amazing personal trainer and he comfortably pushes me where he understands I can go. He’s very open and friendly and knows as well when I’ve reached my limit. However, without even realizing it through his coaching and encouragement I’ve reached personal bests and with him I’ve even surpassed myself by the strength I didn’t think possible. I feel 10x better both physically and mentally and I wouldn’t haven’t gotten there without Ennis.

Love this gym! Been coming for a few years now and felt inspired to officially write a review. The gym has a great vibe and plays music that gets you pumped. Classes are also a nice feature. I love the hot yoga and spin. I have also partnered with Matthew Ennis as my personal trainer. This guy knows his shit! One month in and already seeing results and heading in the right direction. Hope this review is helpful.

I’ve been training at this gym for about half a year now and it’s continuing to go down hill. It’s already a very small, outdated and way over crowded gym, but now when machines break, they are just throwing them away and not replacing them. Pros - Staff are great - Vibe is good - Some good pieces of Nautilus equipment - 24 hours during the week Cons - Zero seated leg curl machines anymore machines, they had one, albeit it assume of those terrible Hoist machines, but they replaced it with another prone leg curl, so now they have exactly zero seated leg curl machines and three prone leg curl machines. - The abductor (outer thigh) machine broke and they removed it and now there’s a whole in the floor where it was (see included pic). Zero outer thigh machines, only one inner thigh - Only one traditional hack squat machine - No pendulum squat machine, no V-squat machine - No plate loaded low row machines, no hammer strength high row machines and only one set of Nautilus high, reverse grip, and regular row machines. - Incredibly crowded, the location is small and they have way too many members, if you go after 4pm you will see people 2-3 deep in lines for using equipment. Yes it’s normal for gyms to be crowded at that time but this place is just way over the top crowded. I go early and even then I have to wait sometimes. - Some members are pushy and will try to push you off equipment or stare you down, or claim equipment they were no where near when you walk up to use it. (This is partly because of how small and crowded the location is, it’s just general frustration at lack of adequate amounts of equipment.) - Members do NOT clean up after themselves, finish with machines and just walk away leaving hundreds of pounds of plates loaded on the machine (see Simeon the included pics). Even trainers do this, so there’s no accountability or push to make members clean up after themselves. People also can’t manage to put plates back in order, so you’ll have to dig a 10lbs or 25lbs plate out from under 45s and vice versa. The have seen some employees walking around putting plates back, but not ts not enough and they should be doing a better job of policing their members. I went to the Altamonte Springs location recently and finally understand what all the hype around Crunch is, what an amazing gym! This East Colonial location, however, is not it. It’s nothing like the Altamonte location, and is really disappointing that I pay the same amount money monthly for two VASTLY different experiences.

The service here is a joke. We had a very disappointing experience at Crunch Fitness on East Colonial. My wife and I went in with a day pass that is advertised as free, since we were genuinely interested in joining but wanted to try the gym first. Instead of welcoming us or even asking basic information, the staff immediately started pushing a membership on us. I clearly explained that we were considering signing up, but wanted to test the gym first to make sure it was a good fit, especially since my wife is very particular about gyms. Despite this, we were told they would not honor the free day pass because they were running a promotion for memberships. We were then given only two options: sign up on the spot or pay $31 for both of us just to try the gym. That completely defeats the purpose of offering a “free trial.” To make matters worse, I called another Crunch Fitness location on Aloma Avenue, and they confirmed that this policy was incorrect and that they would honor the free day pass without any issue. Now, we’re on our way there. This felt very misleading and like a high-pressure sales and sketchy tactic rather than a genuine attempt to earn our business. We went in ready to potentially sign up, and instead walked away with a negative impression. Very poor customer service at this location. Now, we will still sign up, just not at their sketchy location.
