Nice place. David introduced me to some Filipinos! Er, arts! Oh, uh, Filipino martial arts! That's the one. He's knowledgeable and patient, even with the chronically uncoordinated (not me, of course! I'm extremely coordinaterble). Iris is very responsive and will help you get started. It's a lot of fun!

I came over from the UK to train at the Atlanta Martial Arts Center, and from the start of my trip Coaches Iris and Dennis made sure I felt really welcome and at home right from when I walked in! They're both incredibly skilled instructors across multiple martial arts - but beyond that, they brought a real friendliness and great inclusive energy to their class sessions together. Couldn't have asked for any better teachers for my first BJJ lessons! If you're looking for quality martial arts training across different systems and styles in a very supportive environment, this will be the place for you. I'm looking forward to coming back!

Atlanta Martial Arts Center is an excellent place to train. The programs they offer and the coaches teaching them are incredible. To say “highly recommended” would be an understatement.

I've been training at the school for about 7 years now and it's absolutely one of the best parts of every week. I've been training in martial arts for most of my life and have personally found BJJ to be one of the most useful in terms of practical application as it focuses on body mechanics instead of brute strength. On top of that everyone who trains here is extreamly respectful as this is a close contact sport and cares about each other. A class doesn't go by where someone doesn't laugh and you can see how much everyone enjoys there time here. It's not just the students either, all the instructors are incredibly skilled and truly care about every one of os getting the best BJJ education we can.

On December 2nd I flew into Atlanta airport for the 3 day event of living mechanics BJJ. I was not happy with the lack of service I got from one of the Instructors and the fact that Sifu Baker defended the actions of his instructor was disappointing to say the least. He told me that in the future I should stick with the same partner I started with. Not a total disappointment I did learn some new things and the even did challenge me. This was my first event there and will be my last. I don’t think you should come to this event by yourself because the support just isn’t there and you may or may not have a training partner. Got a partner on day 1 who was coughing a lot, more on that later. Second day I switched up my partner because he was coughing. I ended up testing positive for Covid after I left. I asked one of the Instructors whom worked there for help I think his name was Dennis and he was busy having his conversation and told me to work in with the others. Some scenarios there were 2 person drills so if you were the 3rd guy you wouldn’t get the training. Not acceptable if you’re flying in out of town and paying thousands of dollars just to be there. I certainly hope in the future they treat Brazilians, veterans, firefighters and police officers better in the future I did all 3 in the military and in the civilian world.
