The owner Sam is one of the most friendly guys I’ve ever met and truly has a heart of gold. He’s always looking out for his students and has been an integral part of my understanding of BJJ. The gym is super inviting and theres very litte ego in the gym if any at all. All levels are welcome in the gym, from newbies like me all the way to advanced belts. The mat is cleaned after every class and the bathrooms seem to be cleaned every night. If you’re looking to get in shape or just try something new this is absolutely the best place to do it.

Incredible Jiu Jitsu school and community. I've trained at many Jiu Jitsu gyms over the years and this is definitely one of the best. The head instructor, Sam, has an amazing attitude and is an excellent teacher. All students are respectful, kind, and careful. Very welcoming community, always open to new people. The higher level belts always help out the white belts and blue belts. If you're looking for a place to do Jiu Jitsu, and you're in/near Atlanta, this is the place.

You know me and my Jiu-Jitsu addiction 🤦🏾‍♂️ I couldn’t stay away while visiting Atlanta! Professor Sam and everyone at Buckhead Jiu-Jitsu welcomed me with open arms like I’ve been part of the team for years. The level of Jiu-Jitsu here is just beautiful, technical, detailed, and full of great energy. The environment is clean, friendly, and filled with people who genuinely love to train and help each other improve. I’m so grateful for the experience and can’t wait to come back to learn more from this amazing crew. Highly recommend this academy to anyone in Atlanta looking for top-level training and community! Buckhead JJ has been my home for 7 years. All ages, belts, and skill levels are represented at each class and there is a certainly a comradery throughout the gym that can only be achieved through a healthy but competitive respect for your classmates. Head coach Sam Joseph is clearly a great jiujitsu player, but you find out quickly that he is an even better coach and friend. Sam puts jiu-jitsu into a perspective that allows the sport to positively benefit your life both on and off the mats, regardless of whether you are a hobbyist or full time competitor. "Jiu-jitsu is a part of life, not vice versa." If you are interested in sport jiu-jitsu, self defense, or just want to get in better shape, stop by Buckhead JJ and see what it's all about!

I was looking for gyms in the Atlanta area because I was visiting from out of town. Sam, the owner, was quick to respond. He sets the tone with a friendly, down-to-earth personality that makes everyone—from beginners to advanced students—feel welcome. His teaching style is progressive and easy to follow, with a clear focus on technique, safety, and real development. The community and culture they are building at Buckhead Jiu Jitsu is inspirational. Everyone was warm and welcoming. If you’re looking for a place to grow your skills and actually enjoy the process, this is the gym to join. I will be returning next time I am in town.
