An amazing gym ran by an incredible family, with an awesome student base. They made me feel welcomed and at home immediately. They have great women's only classes, classes for kids, awesome instructors, and a fun and safe atmosphere.

Best bjj gym ever! I’ve been in several gyms but this gym has the best instructors I’ve ever seen. Jason gives huge attention to the development of every individual student. He doesn’t just give you instructions but insists on you to learn and gain the skills you need. I would highly recommend.

Highly recommend this organization. They have a great focus on community. They teach valuable life skills and do a lot to foster health confidence in kids. My 8 year old daughter has gained a lot from this experience. This is a special place. The coaches do a phenomenal job with the students. Happy to have such a gem in our local area.

I 1000% recommend Gracie Jujitsu Decatur!! I've been so lucky that my kids have been going to Gracie for years and they love it! the summer camps are fun for all ages and their classes teach them not only self defense but also self regulation, respect, and even helping around the house for their parents! I love their #1 rule of "avoid the fight at all costs" but I also love that my kids know how to defend themselves if needed. the owners are so very kind and members of the Decatur community and they are always sponsoring local sports and such. I am so glad our kids have been a part of the Gracie Decatur family!

I have done BJJ at 3 other gyms and this is by far the best. Everyone I've come across has an attitude to help and no one has "gone too far" in rolling. There is a general attitude of respect, not just socially but respect not to injure your teammate. The staff take cleanliness seriously, being the only gym (or business for that matter) to supply disinfectant wipes to clean feet and hands to eliminate the spread of staph. Mats are routinely swept and disinfected. I participate in the Gracie Combatives curriculum which has a limited number of techniques to keep you safe in a street fight with a focus on both parties leaving uninjured and resolving the conflict with negotiation once you have gained control of the perpetrators body. The fact that the curriculum has a limited number of techniques is important because at the other schools it would be a new technique every week, which meant I mastered nothing and was often overwhelmed. Because the Combatives program repeats the same 23 lessons, I now have a chance to master the techniques so it is more likely to be muscle memory when I need it most.
