Master S.H. Yu Martial Arts

Our son is 5 and he just started attending classes at Master S.H. Yu’s do jhang and he loves it! It makes him feel powerful, strong and in control and gives him an outlet for all his energy. As a parent, I love the focus on discipline and respect they teach the children. They let the parents stay and watch the class and you can see a class before signing up. This is the real deal-and I’m glad we stumbled upon them. Grand Master Yu is very experienced and this has been his lifelong work, not just a job for him and you can tell in the way he interacts with everybody. Definitely would recommend to anyone interested in taking Martial Arts- 10/10.

Master S.H. Yu Martial Arts is a place where you truly discover your own strength. The students and instructors are welcoming and kind-hearted, and every class offers something new to learn. In just three months, I’ve grown so much both in skill and in confidence and I love every moment of it. Others can see how high I set my own expectations as I continue to improve here

My husband and I have been taking classes with Grandmaster Yu for almost six months. We both have previously practiced martial arts individually and have tried many other schools. We have been really impressed with everything about the school. We signed up with the intention of coming twice a week and we find ourselves trying to come as much as possible. All the instructors are knowledgeable and patient. The curriculum is well thought out and there is great emphasis on discipline and respect. There are adult classes four times a week and they start late enough that we can easily make it after work. Grandmaster Yu is always there to help guide and encourage all his students. You really feel that he cares that you learn everything correctly and safely. I would highly recommend this school if you are a novice to martial arts or if you have done martial arts before and want to get back into it. This place is in it's own league as far as I'm concerned.

My two young children and I have been part of the Master S.H. Yu Martial Arts family for the better part of 3 years and I can't say enough positive things about our experience. As a parent, I love their focus on community over competition as well as the opportunity to have a shared experience with my kids. They have created such a wonderful, supportive community built on love and respect, discipline, hard work and fun. The lessons learned in class often carry over and become great teaching moments at home. It is an honor to be taught by Grand Master Yu and his team of amazing instructors.

As a new student to martial arts and late bloomer, I am learning so much from Master Yu, instructors, and my classmates. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first but I’ve enjoyed my experiences and connected my classmates so much. Master Wilson is so warm and inclusive creating a welcoming environment for all. All the instructors are dedicated to pushing us to do and be our best. Deciding to join the dojhang, learn and practice martial arts here is one of the best decisions I’ve made and I’m happy that I pushed myself to be “greater later.”
