We cannot speak highly enough about Midwest Shotokan and Sensei Veronica. From the start, our kids have had the most motivating and meaningful experiences. Their confidence has risen, their focus has improved, and their joy for the art of karate has increased. Sensei Veronica clearly loves what she does, and her passion is contagious. We love our karate place. It's been 10+ years we are going there. My older son grow up here and it is absolutely best place to get your kids moving. Sensei Veronica is very dedicated and she knows how to handle even not so easy kids. She is very professional and great in organizing classes, camps and birthday parties. It is not only beneficial, but always fun too.

My son has been attending this dojo for a couple of years now and loves it. The monthly cost is reasonable and it's been amazing to see his progress over the years. My son and daughter love taking karate classes at Midwest Shotokan Karate. The discipline of karate has benefited each of my children differently. My son has gained much needed self-confidence I see now in how he carries himself. He used to be scattered, left drawings and projects unfinished. Now his teacher comments on his improved focus and ability to stay on task. Not listening or following directions are issues that have plagued my sassy younger daughter - also the main complaints from her teacher. Karate has been the motivator for her to listen and pay attention so she can excel - it appeals to her competitive nature. Best of all, it has strengthened my kiddo's friendship and brought them closer. Sensei Veronica does an amazing job of weaving together instruction, fun, and the canon of Shotokan into her classes, and you can see she truly loves what she's doing. I come from a family of brown and black belts at NSMAA, and Sensei Veronica employs the right type of methodology for teaching children. All the instructors reflect her passion and attitude, a sure sign of respect. To anyone looking for local karate classes in Arlington Heights, Mt.
