We dropped in to Ronin Jiu Jitsu and Judo during a family vacation. For perspective, I am a blue belt and my daughter is a solid gray belt. The professor and coaches were incredibly gracious, welcoming, and offered detailed Jiu Jitsu. They asked if there was anything specific we wanted to learn and it felt as if they tailored the class for us. It is high level Judo and Jiu Jitsu where they were showing multiple variations in case the first attempt failed. They allowed my daughter to spar for 3 rounds which was awesome. If you are local to Orland Park or traveling I suggest you stop into Ronin Jiu Jitsu and Judo. Professor D’amato is awesome.

Ronin jujitsu and judo is truly exceptional. The atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive, making it a great place for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. The instructors go above and beyond to ensure that every student progresses and reaches their goals. You can not only improve your self defense, physical strength and flexibility but also learn valuable life skills like discipline and perseverance. It's a fantastic place to be a part of!

I found Rōnin through a Facebook group after months of searching for a school and couldn’t be happier to have waited to find the perfect school. After a 2 week trial, my little guy was so excited that I was going to sign him up. The coaches are very engaged with each kid during class, are highly focused on proper training/safety and make a point of talking and becoming friendly with every parent that comes in the door. There’s a variety of different classes my kid can attend (he could go 5 days a week if he wanted!) so at least I’m getting my moneys worth! I’m very pleased with my decision to put my kid into Rōnin and would recommend any parent to do the same!

I’ve been training since 2011, been to gyms in Wisconsin, Indiana and mainly Illinois. The level of training provided by the instructors at ronin is amongst the best. Angelo and Cole have high level Jiu Jitsu. They both care about their students and make sure you’re drilling things the right way. You’re not just a gym membership to them. Tom and Angelo show great judo which helps your Gi stand up. The wrestling ran but Tom Higgins is outstanding. He’s well known in the Midwest and even around the world after his recent wrestling world championship. If you’re looking for self defense, lose some weight or compete in any grappling art, Ronin is the place for you.
