I’ve been training under Professor Antoine “Fumaca” Evans for almost 8 years and have progressed further in my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu than I ever thought possible. He’s led class training trips to Brazil and Thailand and introduced students to his circle of Jiu Jitsu living legends. Teamwork is paramount at the school: students train hard together and also support each other’s Jiu Jitsu journeys. I was passing through town for work and contacted Team Fumaca about dropping into a few classes. The students were friendly and inviting, they immediately made me feel like I was part of the team. This is often not the case when traveling. Professor Fumaca is a HIGH caliber athlete and coach, and eagerly shares his knowledge and experience in fun and sometimes hilarious ways. There are a few quotes I will be borrowing from him ;) Coaches Josh and Eddie were also excellent instructors who effectively relayed their knowledge and kept the students motivated and moving with much individual attention. This will be my new BJJ home when visiting Chicago. If you are local this is where you should be training.
