Uflacker Academy

I've started training at Uflacker Academy since 2024 since I moved into the South Side area. I'm a brown belt and have been training for +8 years in Brazilian Jiujitsu. I've had the opportunity to train under 4 other academies in my BJJ journey. I can honestly say "The U" tops the other 4 places I've trained at. Uflacker Academy offers you top notch instructors, top notch facility, and a friendly environment for everyone to learn and grow. Professor Christian Uflacker is well known in the martial arts community and has contributed his whole life to the betterment of the art and practitioners around the world. You can't go wrong to choose this place for training. Whether you're brand new, LEO, athletic, non-athletic, pro fighter; there's always something to learn from this academy and improve your life on & off the mat.

As someone brand new to Jiu-Jitsu looking a for a local spot, this place has been amazing! The Professors are incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, inviting and always there to help. The other students have been helpful as well, creating a very welcoming environment always willing to assist beginners. I couldn't ask for a better academy to begin my Jiu-Jitsu journey!

Uflacker Academy has been an incredible place for my son to begin his Jiu-Jitsu journey. He started at just 5 years old, and from day one, the coaches made the experience both fun and educational. Their techniques for kids are outstanding—everything is taught in a way that’s easy to understand and engaging through play. Coach Crystal always greeted the kids with a big smile and motivated them to keep practicing. Coach Adam played a huge role in helping my son, master some of the more difficult positions with patience and care. And I have to give my deepest respect to Professor Christian—not only did he see potential in my son, but he also encouraged him to enter his first tournament, where he came out victorious. I highly recommend Uflacker Academy to any parent looking to introduce their child to Jiu-Jitsu. The coaching staff is skilled and supportive.

Speaking behalf of the youth program. Revised: I had to. Re-edit my post because I truly didn’t not see how strong the fundamentals the kids have been learning come into play! They came into play in a couple tournaments where my daughter was just in control and waiting it out for her next move. Encourage all kids to take the fundamentals seriously they work. -If you’re looking for strong fundamentals this is a good place. -Very clean. -Staff is friendly. -Offer classes throughout the week including weekends. -If you want to do privates I highly recommend coach Adam!. One of the best coaches that test my kids abilities with older more experienced kids. Which in returned helped my kid win a couple local tournaments and give the higher belts a good challenge. I will forever be grateful for coach Adam. Coach Lee has been doing a phenomenal thing with the kids class. The techniques being taught Are definitely worth mastering. From what I seen the adult classes are really great! It’s a calm and respectful environment professor Uflacker is very knowledgeable.

I’ve been training with Professor Christian for almost 20 years, and it’s been incredible to watch both his teaching and his academy grow over that time. What started as a small school has turned into a thriving business and community, and that’s a direct reflection of his dedication and passion for jiu-jitsu. His instruction is truly world-class.
