Joining Valko Jiu Jitsu a year ago was one of the best investments I’ve made in myself. The coaching is top-notch, the training is challenging, and the culture is solid. I’ve built real friendships here, pushed myself beyond what I thought were my limits, and grown tremendously in my jiu jitsu journey. The environment strikes the perfect balance between hard training and strong community. I even got my son involved, and he enjoys his classes just as much as I do. That alone says everything about the type of atmosphere Valko creates. Highly recommend to anyone serious about learning Jiu Jitsu in a positive, supportive environment. Big Oss!!!! 🇵🇷✌🏽✊🏽🥋

My 7 yr old daughter has been training here for a year and absolutely loves it! The coaches do an incredible job working with kids of all ages and experience levels. Even though we live near three other BJJ gyms, we’re more than happy to make the 30+ minute drive to train at Valko. If you’re looking for something new that also helps your kids build confidence and character, this is the place! 🥋

I take my son here 1- 3 times a week and the instructors are incredible. My son loves coming here. In less than 1 year I’ve seen him build discipline, confidence, composure and friendships.

This is a great place to train; the mats are clean, there's plenty of changing room, and the instuctors are knowledgeable and friendly; making sure each student receives equal amounts of attention and instruction. Having students from the downtown location do drop-in classes ensures you won't be rolling with the same 5 people every week. Jay does a really nice job of keeping out hyper-aggressive, obnoxious types, while still maintaining a pragmatic grounding in the 'martial' aspect of the art-- a key balance point to be looked for when shopping around for a martial arts studio. As long as folks are chill and respectful, there's a niche here for all types of jiu-jitsu practitioners: people looking for a little confidence boost and physical conditioning, people serious about training for combat, folks that are into jiu-jitsu as sport, or even just middle-aged 'weekend warriors' looking for a family friendly atmosphere to train with their kids. If I had to nitpick, I would say that the mats can get a bit crowded on certain nights, but I can't really fault the studio for being popular.

My son started here a month ago and he absolutely loves it. He’s a better listener at home, gaining more confidence and I can’t say enough great things about Valko. All the staff are so friendly and so family oriented. I definitely picked the right place when reviewing many others in the area. I love how easy it was to sign up on the website.
