CrossFit Golden Valkyrie

I was in Des Moines for work and was looking for a CrossFit gym so I gave Golden Valkyrie a try as it was right next door to my hotel. I’m happy I did, the members in class were welcoming. The coach was engaging and provided super helpful tips during the workout and the facility was great. I will be dropping in every time I am in town. Thank you for the hospitality.

We dropped in while visiting from out of town. Everyone was welcoming and very friendly! It was clean and great set up. Coaches were helpful.

I had a great experience dropping it at CrossFit Golden Valkyrie! Brian - the coach - was super welcoming and did a great job demoing and breaking down the workout. The gym is super clean and they have a cool drop in + tshirt deal. Would definitely recommend this gym!

I was dropping in for a class while visiting the city and everyone at this box was super welcoming! The coaching staff was super nice and I felt comfortable the minute I walked in. One thing that stood out to me was that everyone in the class waited and cheered on every member until all finished the WOD! That’s huge.

CrossFit Golden Valkyrie in my own mind has helped defeat the stigma I’ve had for CrossFit for many years. For a long time I understood the culture of gyms to be cutthroat and brutally competitive, which displaces anybody other than high level athletes. And I still believe this to be true at some gyms, but it is the furthest thing from what this gym is. The coaches I’ve had the pleasure of being coached by (Chris,Sarah, Bryan, Tom, and Caitlyn) have been phenomenal. All that matters in my mind and what I believe to something rather universal is that they care, and want you to succeed and ultimately to be healthy while being safe. This is something I think anybody will want in a coach, someone who pushes you while also keeping you safe. Not to mention the culture is also phenomenal, and in the sports and lifting background I have personally was new to me, because everyone is so supportive and so welcoming. The people at this gym along with the coaches will push you to keep yourself doing the best you can be doing. This is the gym for “anyone”, it doesn’t matter if you haven’t ever deadlifted in your life, or if you’re a seasoned gym goer. This place will push you to be the absolute best version of yourself you can be, as it has done with me firsthand. I cannot recommend this place enough, you just need to try it out and see.
