ICOR has excellent facilities, Clif and Emily are coaches that care; really know the sport of boxing and teach great sportsmanship. They also support the community and underprivileged as well as help people with Parkinson's to enjoy a higher quality of life with their non-profit programs.

ICOR, has been great. The coaches are extremely nice and passionate about what they do. My child has been there for a year and looks forward to everyday she gets to go. They do not teach just boxing they also teach the kids to be a good person and stick up for those that cannot and never to be a bully. I would highly recommend for any child that wants to learn about boxing go here.

I joined ICOR four months ago. I am in my early 40s, and was looking for an inclusive environment to get my fitness back on track. ICOR has the typical facilities and equipment that you would expect from a boxing club, and it is all in a good state of maintenance and well cared for. However, the facilities and equipment are not what make ICOR stand out. The staff and members of ICOR genuinely care about each other. I have never belonged to a gym or club where the coaches and members care as much about your life outside the gym as they do about your time inside the gym. The coaches, Cliff and Emily, go beyond the role of simply coaching proper form, technique, etc., to ensure that members are having their needs met outside of the gym. I have also seen this level of care among the members, where the values of the coaches and staff that has been taught to the members is often seen continuing among the members. Lastly, and this is a bit personal and subjective, I admire the family nature of ICOR. As someone who has kids of my own, I understand how demanding family life can be. Balancing running a business with having young children is something that I believe deserves respect. The coaches' kids can frequently be seen around the club, and for me its like being right at home. Some people might find it inconvenient or distracting, but I find it reassuring to know that the people I have entrusted my training to can understand the pressures and demands that I experience as a parent. A family operated business isn't the training environment everyone wants or needs, but it's perfect for me.

I cannot say enough good things about Icor . This place is one of a kind, especially in the Iowa city area . Not only is a professional boxing gym with a real boxing ring , it also offers a variety of fitness classes for all fitness levels . My husband loves his adult fitness classes and meeting well trained boxers, my sons adore their big Dog classes in which they learn boxing , discipline, respect and socializing etc. I would like to try a boxing class in the future or maybe just learn how to dance salsa. Overall, Icor is the crème de la crème of boxing . Cherry on top is the amazing owners and coaches who are not only dedicated to making their members succeed but also very involved in the community . A+ recommend !!

I had never participated in any sort of combative sports prior to joining ICOR. I wanted to take up boxing for overall fitness and to improve the muscles around my shoulders, arms, and back. However I had no idea what sort of environment I would be walking into. ICOR provides the opportunity to audit a free class, and I joined soon after. The classes/times are rotating, so whether you're there for sparring, or just want to work on conditioning, or are learning how to box with no prior experience, there are plenty of opportunities. The coaches are not only fantastic in their fields, but welcoming, motivating, and will help challenge you to overcome self-imposed limits. The environment from not only them, but the other students, is why I would recommend this gym to everyone. I have received guidance and assistance from other students in every class when I've asked for it. You'll see a wide range of skill levels, but everyone is there to improve and lift up one another.
