Kenji does a great job getting the students acclimated to the structure of class! He does not shy from giving constructive feedback to the students but does so in a way to motivate the students and give them something to work towards. Scheduling and class options are great.

Sensei Kenji Nakata is an amazing, patient, and caring instructor. My daughter loves his emphasis in the rituals and practice of traditional Japanese karate. I love the one on one focus he has for his students and the convenience to my family for the location and time flexibility. The dojo is always clean and spacious. Your kid will never feel left out compared to other martial arts dojos which are crammed with large class sizes, and this makes the class experience a lot more enjoyable for us the parents who want to watch our kids practices. If you are looking for a great way to teach your kid about self defense, discipline, and the Japanese martial arts, this is the place for you.

My child has been going for about a month. She has special needs along with mobility struggles. I called a few places in the Metro and this dojo was the only one willing to take her without exception. Sensei at the dojo is amazing with her. Hes so kind and patient. Kiddo has a modified session to accommodate her needing one on one instruction. She is already getting stronger! We actually cut out one of her PT sessions already. Yay! I just wish more parents of kiddos with special needs knew of this dojo so she could have another kiddo in her session to help motivate her. Please note my opinion, kiddos with special needs should be able to stand without assistance and follow basic instructions to be successful at the dojo.

If you need a workout, if you want to have more flexibility, if you want to have good balance. This is the place to be. Sensei Kenji is an incredible instructor. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, and patient. This dojo has classes from adults to children. After playing years of D1 football I wanted to find something with low impact but still be able to compete. This place can give you the tools you’ll need to be successful in karate and in life. Highly recommend! Great for discipline and to have a commitment outside of everyday life.
