reviewsWhat Members Say
Many members praise the gym for its patient instructors who help children build self-confidence and grow both mentally and physically. Parents specifically mention Coach D and appreciate the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes students feel at home. However, some reviews express serious concerns about unfair judging during competitions, with one female sensei accused of showing bias toward her own students. Other complaints include administrative issues such as delayed belt certifications and incorrect documentation, though these appear to be isolated incidents among generally positive experiences.

My son loves it here!! He first started when he was 4 years old for a 6week class. Sometime went by and my son was begging me to send him back. So we came back at 7yrs old. We love Coach D!

Truly a great place for kids to build self-confidence the instructors are nice patient. Kids grow both mentally and physically they encourage the kids to be self-confident and nurture a wonderful and warm atmosphere for little Minds. Many times I wonder who gets the most satisfaction out of the children success the teacher or the student. It is wonderful to watch someone do for a living what they thoroughly enjoy.

Don't bring your child to this school. I have paid $500.00 dollars for 2 Black belt test she never gave my son a new blackbelt she made him bring his old one to put a stripe on that was in November 2015 she refuses to give my family the embroidery belt .she gives my son his certificate the same time his father had received his certificate . Then puts the wrong date on his certificate . My family had a key to her business and was very loyal to her and her family but never seen my family in the same way. No person would give her step son that was in college and not in her dojo an embroidered belt out of spite and meanest and she calls herself a master but sends you videos for your child to learn from while your paying a monthly tuition and other people get it for free. Please dont bring your child to this school she's only looking out for the best for her not your child.

I'm really disappointed by the judging your female sensei displayed. If you are on a ring judging Kumite, you should be 100% impartial. This lady (short blonde and dark brown hair) was beyond cheating for her own southside students in matches. It became such a problem, parents were pulling their children (5 and under and 6&7) out of the competition in the middle of it. So let me explain a bit why I am writing this. T... view morehere are certain rules in Kumite (sparing) that judges and competitors must follow. One of the major and most important rule is to NOT hit in the face. If there is face contact the judges stop time and will discuss the "infraction" and then will rule either there wasn't enough confirmation there was face contact or that there was and a warning or dq will be issued. This particular judge, would argue that she didn't see any infraction from her southside students when there was clear illegal contact. She never would agree to her students getting a warning or a point issued to the other competitor. It got to the point parents and MULTIPLE FAMILIES were screaming at the 5 judges to do something, were yelling at this judge she was a cheater and also ended up with the head officials involved. She should NEVER be allowed to judge in events, especially when her students are in the ring. People came from all over the world to compete in this competition and to have a judge be unfair and and not impartial is really disappointing. I am disgusted by what this woman did, she caused a few individuals to lose and wouldn't you know it...one of her students took first. Might I add, I have this all on video and you can clearly see her student punch my child square in the face and her argue it never happened, even with a red mark on his eye! Not to mention, her students were hitting other students in the face and were kicking below the waist. It's all on video and you can hear these families just becoming more and more angry. You have given quite a few people and families a bad taste in their mouth about the sportsmanship of your dojo and the state of Louisiana. I will be writing a review on all of the pages so this individual is known for her behavior and if I were your dojo I would be removing her from competitions completely. What are you teaching your students? Cheating is never okay and honesty is the best way to live your life, sadly this woman is completely teaching the opposite. So glad my children don't attend this dojo and have better role models as their senseis.
