This gym takes pride in all of its equipment. Constantly bringing in new machines and methods of exercise. The owner employs and trains local youth. For that alone I would workout here if all there were to offer was 2 rocks and a bag of sand. The hours are not always ideal. I do have a planet fitness pass for a good late night lift ( past 10pm ) but as far as gyms go, this place is home. This place is a keystone to this city and its incredible community. Thank you Westbank Athletic Club.

I’ve been a member of this gym for over 20 years when it was previously a World Gym. The owner of the gym is pretty much always there and willing to offer workout or diet advice. The staff is super friendly and hard working. Best place to train hands down in NOLA.

I’m an old guy. This is an old school gym. Lots of equipment so I never have to wait in line for benches or machines. Indoor and outdoor stations and lots of friendly members. My second year of membership. Always new equipment and stations appear

Raw. Real. Ruthless. This Is the Gym That Builds Beasts. If you're looking for chrome machines, spa music, and people scrolling Instagram between sets—keep walking. But if you want chalk-stained floors, iron that clanks, and a crew that trains like it’s life or death, welcome to WAC—the last real gym standing. This place doesn’t care about trends. It’s old school in the best way: heavy weights, no excuses, and an environment that demands grit. The energy in here is electric—everyone’s grinding, pushing limits. There’s no judgment, no fluff—just mutual respect and serious lifting. The equipment is battle-tested—dumbbells that go way beyond what you’ll find at a corporate chain, squat racks that have seen decades of blood, sweat, and PRs. Results are undeniable here. Whether you're a powerlifter, fighter, or just tired of the soft fitness culture—this place will toughen you up, mentally and physically. WAC doesn’t hand out participation trophies. You earn everything here. This isn’t a gym. It’s a proving ground
