Coach Jimmy and Ian are excellent teachers of wrestling skills. One of the best aspects of this academy is that it is developing the students into future leaders through the physical attributes of a sport that tests the meddle of any person along with life lessons by using monthly character traits. This academy has done a lot for my son's development as a wrestler and as a young man.

I have two sons that wrestle at the academy and would recommend it to anyone. I have seen what a positive influence Coaches Jimmy and Ian have had on my boys both on and off the mat. They are teaching boys to be young men and showing them that working hard and having fun can go hand in hand.

The coaches make sure they take care of each child individually. On top of teaching wrestling, they instill character traits for everyday life. Personal growth is more important than winning.

Louisiana Wrestling Academy is a gem for athlete development. Great coaches who are developing young athletes to have the individual fortitude wrestling is famous for while maintaining a club atmosphere that is wholesome and team-oriented. In the 6:00-7:30 training session, you see wrestlers ranging in age from 7-20, which is great. The younger and smaller wrestlers have a wide range of experience they can learn from. The older wrestlers have great character and are great athletes who set the example that the younger ones genuinely look up to. The group dynamic reminds me of being around all of my cousins when I was younger - there is goodness for everyone in having solid role models and being a solid role model. My son is12 and loves it. Kudos to Coach Ballantyne and the other coaches for creating the environment where steel is forging steel in every training session.
